Bottom Line

This mid-range hotel is a smart, stylish option in a good location for
both business travelers and tourists as it’s near many banks and office
buildings, and lots of Buenos Aires’ major sights, including Casa Rosada and
Plaza de Mayo. Some of the 147 rooms feel
rather cramped and look onto a brick wall, but they all have a sleek and modern look, and are equipped
with air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and powerful showers. The hotel also offers
a free breakfast, 24-hour fitness center, and underground car parking (for a small daily fee), making it a good value for short stays. Nearby Room Mate Carlos costs more, but has apartment-style rooms and a sexy lobby bar.

Scene

Trendy, bustling hotel with a stylish open-plan lobby

The hotel's modern and shiny exterior wraps around a corner and stands out on the city street.
The lobby screams contemporary style, too, with high-shine black floor tiles, an
illuminated wall bearing the hotel logo, and funky furniture in red, black, and white with pops of deep purple. The hotel's library consists of stylish white shelving containing some books and a random assortment of tschotskes, including a miniature cruiser bicycle, vintage-style alarm clock, and tiny framed portraits -- all lending a fresh, creative vibe to the room. The elevator bank also has an artistic look, with oversized black-and-white photographic prints of clock faces and an hourglass. The lobby is a bright, open-plan space with lots of windows looking out onto the street, and the breakfast area, library, and computer stations all merge together. The reception desk is
surrounded by an illuminated wall, and there's a stand of tourist leaflets
adjacent to it. It’s a fairly busy hotel attracting a mix of business guests
and tourists, ranging from couples to families with kids.

Location

Lots to see around the neighborhood, and a quick stroll from a Metro station

The hotel is located in the center of the commercial district. It's a fairly
quiet spot which attracts many business travelers thanks to the numerous banks
and office buildings nearby. There's plenty of culture for tourists to soak up
in the immediate neighborhood, too. The 9th July Avenue is within a couple blocks, and the Casa
Rosada and iconic 19th-century square, Plaza de Mayo, are a 10-minute walk. Many sights are within a seven-minute walk, including the Museo Mundial del Tango, which gives a glimpse into the history of the
famous dance. Exhibits from 18th-century Argentina can be seen at the Museo
Historico Nacional del Cabildo y la Revolución de Mayo, which is also just a
seven-minute walk. The famous Palacio Barolo building and the Plaza de los dos
Congresos are around a 15-minute walk. The Belgrano metro station is just a few minutes' walk away, too.

Rooms

Contemporary rooms with minimalist white decor and excellent showers

The hotel has 147 rooms, available in single, double, triple, or
quadruple. Room sizes vary, and some guests find them a little on the small
side and lacking closet space. It’s also worth noting that some look out onto
brick walls, so it may be worth asking for a street view. As with the rest of
the property, the rooms are decorated in a contemporary style. They have sleek,
white gloss furniture, light wood laminate flooring, and opaque glass bathroom walls. The
bathrooms are stylish, with wall-hung basins and large
(and powerful!) walk-in showers -- though some guests note that there are no locks on the bathroom doors, and the glass walls aren't private enough for everyone's taste. Every room has air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a
safe, mini-fridge, and flat-screen TV with satellite channels.

Features

Parking and fitness center on-site, and free Wi-Fi and breakfast

Underground car parking is available at the hotel, and while not included in
the room rate, the cost is reasonable. There’s a bright and appealing 24-hour fitness center with treadmills, weights, and exercise bikes. Wi-Fi
is free throughout the hotel and the signal is good. There are also four
computer stations in the lobby where guests can use the Internet free of
charge. Guests are also welcome to borrow books during their stay from the
small library. The free breakfast is an "Argentinean"
Continental -- that includes toast, pastries, coffee, cereals, jams, cheese,
and ham. Some guests find the selection quite limited, though, as there’s no yogurt
or fruit. Room service is available during limited hours.
