Bottom Line

The 100-room Intersur Recoleta is located in the affluent, residential neighborhood of Recoleta, and its elegance reflects that. From the facade's stunning architecture and the lavish French-inspired decor, to the exceptionally helpful staff and the exquisite Italian fine dining at the Marcelo Restaurant, the hotel is striking and impressive in almost all respects. The spacious rooms are decorated in charming, sophisticated colors of beige and deep red and they are furnished with just the right amount of quality and class -- nothing is over-the-top or excessive. When not living the luxurious life (for a more than reasonable price!) inside the hotel, guests can enjoy the art galleries, shopping centers, and museums that are close by.

Location

In the heart of the quiet and refined neighborhood of Recoleta, close to art galleries, cultural institutions, historic landmarks and parks, and shopping districts

Recoleta takes it name from the Recollect Fathers, a Franciscan order that established itself in the area during the early 18th century. The order built a monastery, church and what would eventually become the famous Recoleta Cemetery. Featuring striking 19th and 20th century funerary art and architecture, the cemetery today is the final resting place for many of Argentina’s most influential political figures, including former First Lady Eva “Evita” Peron. Recoleta is also close to the Recoleta Cultural Center, the National Library of Argentina, and the National Museum of Fine Arts.
