The 197-room Hotel Madero is in the beautiful, recently developed Puerto Madero neighborhood, full of trendy bars, restaurants, boutiques, and upscale condominiums. The hotel reflects the chic, luxurious surroundings, with sleek decor (unique pieces of artwork, sophisticated color schemes) and an overall young, laid-back ambiance. Bright, spacious, and tastefully furnished, most of the rooms feature nice amenities such as private balconies, minibars, iPod docks, and work areas. Wi-Fi is available, but for a fee. The heated indoor pool is a bit small, but its rooftop location and the outside terrace provide lovely views of the area. The free breakfast buffet includes hot Argentinian specialties and pastries, and Red Resto & Lounge serves local and international dishes. One downfall, though: It’s difficult reaching other parts of Buenos Aires without a car because the hotel isn’t close to any subway stops.
Location
Located in the newly developed waterfront neighborhood of Puerto Madero, close to hip restaurants and bars, and beautiful high-rise condos
After undergoing substantial upgrades -- it was the largest urban renewal project in Buenos Aires and one of the most successful waterfront projects in the world -- Puerto Madero has seen a total rebirth. It’s a safe, hip, up-and-coming place with premier movie theaters, cafes, shops, and classy residential high-rises lining the once run-down streets.Buenos Aires has become one of the hottest tourist destinations in the world and currently draws more than 2.5 million people a year. Aside from being the capital of Argentina, it is also the country's largest city, and the second biggest metropolitan area in the South American continent right behind Sao Paolo. It is steeped in a rich history of struggle for independence over colonialism, but its past is still very much a part of its present, especially through the city's cosmopolitan culture and exquisite European-style architecture. Its many popular thoroughfares, such as the pedestrian shopping street Calle Florida or the garden- and museum-lined Avenida de Libertador, make the city seem lively at every turn. Visitors interested in seeing national landmarks will find plenty in the Microcentro neighborhood, and those looking for a buzzing, hip nightlife scene will find it in the trendy Palermo Viejo area.- 31-minute drive to Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE)
