Scene

Stylish boutique hotel with views of the ocean

Hotel Las Rocas has a blocky cream-colored exterior that doesn't exactly scream boutique hotel. Inside, the lobby has a homey ambience, with a wooden desk and floors, and a charming bar area with lovely ocean views. Past the lobby is a seating area that looks more like a cozy lounge in a  mountain resort than something found in a beachside hotel. It has wood floors and wood-paneled walls, brown leather chairs and furry rugs, an old wooden piano in the corner, and walls that are a mix of white stone and mirrors. There’s a pool table, too. The bar is stylish; it maintains the wood-focused style of the other public spaces but adds some wavy red-and-yellow patterns to the chairs and the lower half of the bar. The spa and the outdoor pool patio area are sleek and sexy. Striped yellow umbrellas and wood tables look fresh and inviting. While the hotel has some family-friendly features, it attracts mostly couples.

Location

Close to the beach, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment

Located right by the ocean, Hotel Las Rocas has lovely ocean views from all rooms. It's an eight-minute walk to Playa Verse or an 11-minute walk to Grande Beach. There are some dining options on surrounding streets. Guemes Street, a popular avenue filled with shops and dining galore, is an 18-minute walk away. San Martin Park is an eight-minute walk from the hotel. Astor Piazzolla International Airport is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel.

Rooms

Contemporary rooms with ocean views, flat-screen TVs, and minibars

All 50 rooms at Hotel Las Rocas have ocean views, and many feature furnished balconies or terraces too. Rooms are upbeat and fashionable. They have laminate wood floors, white bedding with red accent pillows and dark headboards, green or red curtains, and framed photographs or artwork that adds a homey vibe. The atmosphere is inviting and calming. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, minibars, and air-conditioning, though there are no coffee- or tea-making facilities. Light-gray bathrooms incorporate vessel sinks or marble countertops, shower/tub combos, and bidets. Toiletries and wall-mounted hairdryers are provided. The VIP Suite has a separate jetted tub.

Features

Lovely spa, seasonal outdoor pool, and free breakfast buffet

Many of the hotel's features take advantage of its beautiful seafront location. The spa, which has a sauna, showers, baths, and massage services, offers scenic views of the sea from the large indoor hot tub. Be aware that spa services come with a fee, and children must be at least 18 years old to schedule services. The hotel has an outdoor seasonal pool with a lovely patio set with tables, chairs, and umbrellas for shade. The gym is small; it offers a hodgepodge of dated cardio machines, a weight machine, and a few free weights. The bar also offers lovely sea views, and serves light fare and drinks throughout the day. In addition to 24-hour room service, a modest breakfast buffet (included in the rates) is served daily. Meeting rooms can accommodate up to 180 people, and there's a business center with public desktop computers. The hotel has a sparse playroom with a small children’s playground, table tennis, foosball, as well as a separate area with a pool table. Wi-Fi is free. On-site garage parking comes with a fee.
