Formerly Le Meridien, this stately and centrally located luxury hotel is now operated by the Ritz-Carlton; the lobby, restaurant, and guest rooms underwent renovations in 2015 and 2016. Many of the 170 guest rooms and 30 suites overlook Erzsebet Square, and some offer views of St. Stephen’s Basilica. The rooms are large and elegant, extending the sophisticated decor displayed in the public areas. There's also a restaurant, bar, lounge, spa, five meeting spaces, a ballroom, a fitness center, and an indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, and steam room. This hotel’s central location near some of Budapest’s main attractions and the quality of its amenities make it a solid choice, but travelers could compare rates and features with the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace.

Situated on a pretty, leafy street, The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest is ideally situated for getting around the city. Opposite the property is the attractive Erzsebet Ter park, and within a five-minute walk are the banks of the Danube, the Vigado Concert Hall, and a wide range of shops, cafes, and restaurants. The iconic Chain Bridge is within a 10-minute walk, and Buda Castle and the Budapest History Museum on the other side of the river are within a 20-minute walk. The Deak Ferenc Ter metro station is a one-minute walk from the hotel's front door.

Large and elegant with traditional decor and modern amenities
The sizable guest rooms were renovated in 2015 and 2016 with luxe, contemporary furniture and bubble chandeliers. Some have French balconies, offering attractive views over either Erzsebet Square or quiet Deak Ferenc Street. All rooms come with featherbeds, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, air-conditioning, honor-system minibars, safes, and free bottled water. The sophisticated marble bathrooms are also large, and have separate showers and baths. Larger suites come with separate lounges, additional bathrooms, and private terraces; some with kitchens and dining rooms.
