Hilton Brussels Grand Place

The Hilton Brussels Grand Place hotel is housed in a long, six-story, neo-classical building with a facade that gently hugs the Grand Place. Originally built in 1995, the property was previously Le Meridien Brussels. As a Hilton, it underwent a major renovation starting in 2014. The lobby is the hotel's most elegant feature, with a high ceiling that shows off a spectacular golden chandelier. The lobby also features beautiful column accents, a nook with floor-to-ceiling windows, and marble and parquet floors. The area is spacious, and modern angular couches and chairs give guests lots of spots to hang out, while also offering a tasteful foil for the lobby's more traditional touches. The hotel's central location and business amenities make this a frequent choice for those in town to work, though the property also draws a good share of leisure travelers, including families. 

The Hilton Brussels Grand Place is in the heart of Brussel's historic district around the corner from the bustling Grand Place and across from Central Station. From Central Station, guests can get almost anywhere in Brussels, including Zaventem International Airport (the trip takes about 20 minutes). But most of the city sights are within easy walking distance, including Saint Michael and Saint Gudula Cathedral, and the Square Meeting and Convention Center. Self parking is available for an extra fee.

The 224 rooms at the Hilton Brussels Grand Place are tasteful, clean, and contemporary, though the decor is chain-style standard and not on par with the common areas. In King Guest Rooms, blue-plaid wall-to-wall carpeting meets cream-colored walls, white bedding, accented by blue headboards and U-shaped chairs and ottomans. Rooms include 42-inch flat-screen HD TVs with in-room movie channels and pay-per-view, work desks and chairs, stocked minibars, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. All rooms are air-conditioned and include free Wi-Fi. Fully marbled bathrooms in green and beige might include shower/tub combos, along with hairdryers and Peter Thomas Roth toiletries. 

King Family Rooms can accommodate two adults and two children on rollaway beds, while suites offer extra living space. At the end of 2015, a few of the hotel's guest rooms still awaited renovation.

The Hilton Brussels Grand Place checks all the boxes expected of an upscale hotel. The property has its own small restaurant and bar. The bar offers a lunch and dinner menu, while the Brasserie La Place Restaurant serves seasonal French and Belgian dishes for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served daily, with buffet and a la carte choices that include Belgian waffles and made-to-order eggs, but it's not included in the room rate and guests tend to find it pricey.

The hotel's 24-hour fitness center is small but clean and well-maintained, with cardio equipment, including an elliptical and treadmill, weight-lifting equipment, and free weights.

The hotel also has 17 meeting rooms and two ballrooms that can accommodate up to 200 people each. A small business center has a computer and printer, along with a few desks, outlets, and executive chairs. Guests staying in Executive Rooms or Suites also have access to the Executive Lounge, which offers free snacks, drinks, and breakfast. 

Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, and concierge services and room service (limited hours) are available. For guests traveling with children, the restaurant offers kids' menus and high chairs, and cribs and babysitting can be arranged.
