In a beautiful location
near the canal, the 26-room Pand Hotel is a popular upscale, chain hotel in a quiet
spot not far from the main tourist destinations in Bruges. The rooms are charming
and traditionally elegant, though some are more polished than others. There aren’t a lot of extra amenities at the
hotel, but there is a tiny bar, and a full breakfast is served in a bright,
flowery room with a skylight. Guests looking for more amenities in a less intimate environment may want to consider the Hotel Dukes Palace, which has a full restaurant on-site as well as a small fitness center and spa.
Scene
Charming boutique with high end furnishings
The Pand Hotel combines
several beautifully decorated spaces. The lounge at the hotel is
handsome with leather chairs, Louis Vuitton suitcases propping up lamps, and wooden
bookshelves with chicken wire doors, while the mahogany bar is tiny with three
purple-cushioned barstools and a wraparound lavender couch with hanging lamps and
velvety drapes that give the spot a nostalgic feel. The breakfast room has an
English tea room vibe with rosy floral wallpaper, white wicker chairs with pink
cushions, and skylights brightening up the space. Just off the breakfast room,
there’s a charming outdoor courtyard with vines and trees, a fountain, and gray wicker seats. Overall the atmosphere is refined and quiet.
Location
On a cobbled street near a canal with cafes and restaurants
The Pand Hotel is on pretty
tree-lined street with residences as well as cafes and restaurants. It’s near
the canal and is a short walk to the historic center of Dijver, a destination
popular for its famous medieval buildings. There’s an outdoor market within a
five-minute walk, and the international airport in Ostend is around a half-hour
drive away.
Rooms
Elegant rooms with DVD players and free Wi-Fi, but some have small bathrooms
Rooms are elegant and
romantic with varying decor (some are more polished than others, but all are charming). Some rooms have floral wallpaper and white wicker
chairs, and others have four-poster beds and dark couches. Junior Suites have Ralph Lauren bedding and whirlpool bathtubs, and the Master Suite has two sleigh beds in addition to the main bed. All rooms have flat-screen
TVs, DVD players, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are marble
or granite and have Hermes bath products, but some of the bathrooms are rather
small. Rooms with views overlooking the picturesque rooftops are available.
Features
Lovely breakfast room, tiny bar, and leafy courtyard
