The upper-middle-range Best Western Premier Weinebrugge
offers a peaceful stay in a small countryside village away from the bustle of the city (the hotel has a shuttle -- for a fee -- to the Bruges city center). There
isn’t much within walking distance and there is no public transportation near
the hotel, but there are many scenic walking trails around to explore the countryside. Guest rooms are modern with subdued palettes, electric kettles, and small flat-screen TVs plus gorgeous tile bathrooms. A
rooftop terrace has views of the property and there is a marvelous outdoor
garden and terrace area. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and there
is a free daily breakfast and free parking.
Scene
A welcoming and cozy hotel away from the city noise
Inside a traditional Belgian-style U-shaped
building, there is an open, bright, updated lobby with many brochures and
tourist materials. Several seating areas with comfortable, muted-tone furniture
decorate the lobby and hallways, while red carpeting and rugs (typical of the
brand) add little bits of color. There are also a lot of antique touches such
as exposed wood beams and brickwork that add charm to the property. The small but
beautiful rooftop terrace has great views and the outdoor courtyard
and garden area are well kept and peaceful. There is a cozy and welcoming vibe
that runs throughout the Best Western Premier Weinebrugge, including the
restaurant and bar.
Location
In the tranquil countryside, far from Bruges city center
The Best Western Premier Weinebrugge is
located near a small village on large remote grounds. Since it's a quiet
destination in the countryside, guests will need to rent a car to visit local
shops, restaurants, attractions, or the city of Bruges; the city center is about a
15-minute drive away. There is no public transportation nearby and taxis can
become expensive to and from the city each day. Loppem Castle is about a five-minute drive from the hotel and there are numerous scenic countryside walks in the
area. Not much is within walking distance, however, the fields and woodland
that surround the property create a relaxing getaway.
Rooms
Mostly modern rooms with beautiful tile bathrooms
Soft furniture, comfy beds, plus red and
neutral color schemes decorate the rooms at the Best Western Premier
Weinebrugge. Some rooms are not as updated as others and only certain ones have
mini-fridges and iPod docks; all rooms have flat-screen TVs and
electric kettles. Although the rooms themselves are a little bland, the well-lit
bathrooms are a standout feature with travertine tile, border-lit mirrors, and
heated towel racks; Aqua Line amenities are available as well. Bathrooms are
large and several have modern rainfall shower heads in walk-in showers and separate tubs. Almost all rooms have views of the green space that surrounds
the hotel.
Features
Shuttle to city center, plus free Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking
Even though the hotel is far from the
city center, they do offer a shuttle during certain hours to downtown; however,
it costs a fee each way and the hours are limited. Free Wi-Fi is available
throughout the property, in addition to a free daily breakfast and free parking.
The special occasion dining rooms are equipped to the brand standard and the
business center looks professional with leather office chairs, audiovisual equipment,
and a long wooden table. There is a tiny sauna in the small fitness center. The on-site restaurant
serves French-Belgian cuisine that receives excellent reviews and the on-site
bar is a favorite as well.
