Among the largest buildings in North Vancouver, the Holiday Inn has an imposing, six-story facade flanked by leafy trees. The property is beautifully landscaped with brick paths winding around hedges, plus an outdoor fountain and waterfall. The lobby and hallways are decorated in standard franchise hotel style, with pale colors, floral prints, and generic artwork. But the restaurants have some character: The Pantry, with diner-style booths and trinket cabinets, is bright and inviting; Seymour's Pub, with a barn-like ceiling and candlestick light fixtures, draws locals looking for fun and sports on TV. Both restaurants have patios.

Off of major highway in North Vancouver, with easy access to mountains
Located right on Highway One across the harbor and northwest of downtown, the hotel is within a 10- to 20-minute drive of Stanley Park, Gastown, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, and the heart of downtown. The beauty of this location is that the mountains are very easy to reach via the highway; Grouse Mountain is about 15 minutes away, and Cypress Mountain is about 25 minutes away. There is a large grocery store a few minutes away, but no other shopping or notable restaurants within easy walking distance. The bus stop, with lines going to various parts of the city, is a few minutes' walk down the road. The drive to the airport is about 30 minutes without traffic, and the drive to Whistler is about an hour and 45 minutes.

Guest rooms are more or less what one would expect from a Holiday Inn – spacious and clean, but somewhat bland, with standard wood furniture, white bedding, and green carpeting.
