Chain-style decor, particularly in the rooms
The Holiday Inn Express Branson-Green
Mountain Drive is a simple, modern, eco-friendly hotel located within walking distance of both downtown
Branson and local attractions and restaurants. The busy street and traffic may
be an issue, though. Room design features standard chain fare (with flat-screen TVs,
microwaves, and mini-fridges), but the lobby is surprisingly attractive with artistic light
fixtures and a dark wood and marble front desk. Some rooms are large with walk-in showers
and jetted tubs, while others lack bathroom and counter space. There is free Wi-Fi
and a free breakfast that gets good reviews, along with helpful concierge services
and a 24-hour game room. The pool, hot tub, and steam room are open late and
are popular with families.
Scene
A budget hotel that’s green and contemporary
As an IHG Green Engage hotel, this Holiday Inn Express takes steps towards providing a green experience and reducing waste. Coffee and tea are available for free throughout the day in the lobby, which has artistic light fixtures and a stylish front desk of dark wood and granite. There is comfortable seating
throughout, and the breakfast area is modern with stylish furniture. Blacks,
tans, and reds blanket the hotel, from carpets and tiles to furniture and
artwork. The business center in the lobby has a comfortable leather chair and wooden desk, while the game room and fitness center sport the same
ordinary tan carpet. There isn’t a ton of personality at the hotel, but it is
mostly modern and updated, and is popular with families and tourists.
Location
On a busy street off 76, within walking distance of attractions and restaurants
The Holiday Inn Express Branson-Green
Mountain Drive is set on a busy street that gets heavy traffic during
certain times of day. Within walking distance are Branson's downtown, shops, and
restaurants, as well as Pirate’s Cove Miniature Golf/Go Carts, Stone Hill
Winery, and King’s Castle Theater. The White Water amusement park, Tanger Outlets, and Titanic
Museum are all within a five-minute drive of the hotel. A rental car is necessary to see sights out of the main downtown area.
Rooms
Typical of the chain brand, with a few bonuses
The clean, chain-style rooms are adorned with red carpets
and bedspreads, alongside standard headboards and furniture -- nothing out of
the ordinary for a budget chain. The nondescript artwork doesn’t add any flair, but the comfortable
chairs do provide extra seating. All-in-one pieces of dark wood furniture
store the microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers, and there are free daily newspapers. The Penthouse Suite has a full
kitchen with a dishwasher, sink, microwave, and full-sized refrigerator, in
addition to ample space. Most bathrooms are decked out in standard creams and whites, with shower/tub combinations; the
exceptions are a few that have modern brown tile, and those that have jetted tubs and walk-in showers. The lack of counter space
could be an issue for some, although many bathrooms have two sinks -- one inside the
bathroom and one outside. Bath and Body Works amenities are provided. Each room has a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi.
Features
Indoor pool, steam room, hot tub, free breakfast, and free Wi-Fi
Like many of the hotels in the area, the
Holiday Inn Express Branson-Green Mountain Drive has an indoor pool and hot
tub; however, here there is also a steam room. The free breakfast has a good range of options, and there is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The
concierge services are quite helpful for organizing activities during your stay, and the 24-hour game room and gift shop are popular with kids. There is a business center in the lobby, as well as copy and fax
services, and the fitness center has a decent range of equipment and a large
window to let in natural light. There's also free parking.
