Bottom Line

With 29 meeting rooms and over 800 guest rooms, as well as several restaurants, retail stores, and gift shops, The Westin Copley Place, Boston is one of Boston’s largest hotels. Despite its size and its location within the massive Hynes Convention Center, it doesn’t feel overwhelming, and provides spacious and luxurious rooms, a large fitness center, and a number of dining options. Prices are often higher than at other upscale hotels in the neighborhood, but many guests are willing to pay more for the breadth of features and the convenient location, steps away from Copley Square, the Prudential Center, and the Charles River.

Scene

Large and luxurious

After going up several sets of escalators, the lobby is a welcome site, with a cozy fireplace, plenty of armchairs, and entrances to retail shops, restaurants, and a spa. A vertical garden, warm wood, marble tile floors, and sophisticated carpets add to a feeling of luxury, and guests will find a large reception desk, concierge, and baggage check here. The Westin Copley Place, like the Sheraton and the Marriott Boston Copley Place is part of a massive complex that, in addition to the three hotels, includes the Hynes Convention Center, the Copley Place shopping mall, and the Prudential Center, all of which are connected via the indoor mall and a series of skybridges. As you might suspect, the hotel attracts business travelers and large groups, as well as some leisure guests on the weekends. But, as you might not suspect, the 803-room Westin feels cozy and personable despite its large size and connection to the complex. (The same cannot be said of the Marriott, with its constantly crowded elevators and lobby that doesn't feel distinct from the mall.)

Location

Nestled into the heart of Boston’s Back Bay and Copley Square

The hotel is located within the Hynes Convention Center and right near Copley Square. It’s also a short walk from a number of other Boston sights and attractions, including the Boston Public Library, Newbury Street, and the John Hancock Tower. The area is busy but safe and clean, and public transportation is nearby, allowing easy access to the rest of the city.

Rooms

Spacious and modern, with luxurious amenities

Rooms are bright and airy, with modern furnishings (including Westin’s signature Heavenly beds) and, in some, beautiful views of Boston and the Charles River. The decor is understated and sleek, with dark woods, fresh white bedding, gray walls, and vintage black and white photos of Boston landmarks in silver frames. Bottled water, coffeemakers, mini-fridges, and iPod docks are in every room, and the bathrooms feature rainfall showerheads.

Features

Lots of features for both business and leisure travelers

With meeting rooms, ballrooms, flexible work spaces, and hospitality suites,  The Westin Copley Place, Boston is ideally suited for business travelers and conferences. Families will also likely enjoy the restaurants and easy access to shopping and local attractions. Several restaurants are on-site, including The Huntington, which offers breakfast and brunch, Bar 10, a lounge and bar with light snacks, and Fogo de Chao, a traditional Brazilian steakhouse. Ingredients shop offers made-to-order sandwiches and salads, as well as fresh to-go options for a quick meal or snack. The hotel is pet-friendly, and an Enterprise car rental station is available on the bottom floor.

Pet Friendly

Dogs 40 pounds or under allowed for no extra cost

Beds and bowls are provided. Animals cannot be left alone in the room when it is being cleaned. The concierge will provide phone numbers for dog-walking services but they cannot arrange for it directly.
