Renovated in 2013, the upper-middle-range Embassy Suites at Boston’s Logan Airport offers modern, two-room suites with kitchenettes and sofa beds. It also has ample features for this category of hotel, including a free 24-hour airport shuttle, large pool and whirlpool, and restaurant. It’s a bit more expensive than some of the other hotels at Logan Airport, but for a reason; the large rooms, free breakfast, and well-equipped business and fitness centers help put it a step above the competition.
Scene
A contemporary chain hotel with convenient amenities
The lobby and atrium of the hotel are spacious and bright, and include the Porter Bar and Grill restaurant, the free cooked-to-order breakfast in the morning, and entrances to meeting rooms and ballrooms. A small gift shop is tucked in next to the reception desk, and entrances to the business center, fitness center, and pool are nearby and well-marked. While the hotel does feel like the brand-name chain that it is, the windows and skylights give a welcome brightness to the space, which is large but laid out well.
Location
A quick shuttle ride from Logan Airport
Unlike the other hotels at Logan, which are right next to the main terminals of the airport, the Embassy Suites is located by Maverick Square, a neighborhood in East Boston that’s within walking distance. The outside of the hotel is fairly generic looking, but offers easy, 24-hour accessibility to the airport without sacrificing peace and quiet for its guests.
Rooms
Clean and spacious, with multiple rooms, contemporary design, and standard amenities
As the name suggests, every room at the Embassy Suites is a suite. Standard Suites include two rooms, with a living room and workspace area, a kitchenette, and pull-out couch, as well as a separate bedroom. Each room has its own flat-screen television, and bathrooms connect to both the bedroom and living space. Executive Suites include a large living area with boardroom table for meetings and larger gatherings. Room decor is a bit bland though.
Features
24-hour business and fitness centers, as well as multiple dining options
The Embassy Suites at Boston Logan Airport include a small 24-hour business center and a 24-hour fitness center, as well as a pool and whirlpool area. For business travelers, multiple meeting rooms are available, and families can take advantage of children’s activities, video rentals, and a playground. Using Wi-Fi in rooms requires an additional fee, but the business center includes free Internet and printing. In addition to the free breakfast and in-house restaurant, a gift shop with snacks is located in the lobby, and room service is available during the day and evening.
