Best Value Hotels in Boracay
Our list of the top value hotels on the Philippine island of Boracay include basic beachfront hotels, no-frills hostels, and even an upscale resort with a few freebies.
Boracay Beach Club
Boracay, Malay, Panay Island
Affordable rates and a location across the street from Boracay’s most stunning white-sand beach -- and within walking distance of famous bars and restaurants -- make the 36-room Boracay Beach Club a great pick for value-minded travelers. The mid-range, family-owned hotel has an airy restaurant, a rooftop deck with views, and a small but pleasant freeform pool, but the highlight here is the beachfront bar, which has a drinks and food menu and unobstructed sunset views. Rooms are basic but clean, and feature good amenities such as free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and air-conditioning.
Surfside Boracay Resort & Spa
Boracay, Malay, Panay Island
The Surfside Boracay Resort & Spa is a small budget hotel right on the beach in relaxed Station 3, near dining and nightlife. It has a surprisingly good spa with a sauna and hot tub, along with an alfresco beachfront cafe and bar. However, the 16 simple rooms are old and dated. Even so, the rates are low for the area, and the reliable air-conditioning and furnished patios (some facing the ocean) make them highly competitive. Free breakfasts are included in the rates as well.
Henann Lagoon Resort
Boracay, Malay, Panay Island
Although the 221-room Henann Lagoon Resort is the most contemporary and upscale of all Henann properties in Boracay, it offers good value with a free buffet breakfast and free bottled water in the rooms. Henann Lagoon isn't directly on the beach, but it is within easy walking distance, and it provides free shuttle service to sister property’s beach with free loungers. On site, the 13,000-square-foot lagoon-style pool is the hotel’s biggest selling point. Spacious rooms have modern amenities such as air-conditioning, mini-fridges, large flat-screen TVs, and electric kettles. All units have furnished balconies, and many have direct access to the pool, but there is a fee for Wi-Fi (except in suites) and the connection is spotty at best. The restaurant serves a varied international and Asian buffet and has nice outdoor seating.
Tans Guesthouse
Boracay, Malay, Panay Island
The 26-room Tans Guesthouse is a no-frills budget property located right by the beach in busy Station 2. Rooms are plain in terms of decor, but clean and well-equipped, with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, electric kettles, and safes. The largest units can sleep up to 10 guests and have kitchens, offering good value to families and large groups on a budget. The fitness center and the salon offering massage services are nice perks rarely found in similarly priced hotels, but the property lacks a pool, and breakfast is not included in the standard rate.
La Carmela de Boracay
Boracay, Malay, Panay Island
Low rates year round keep the 242-room La Carmela de Boracay busy. The budget beachfront property in Station 2 has a 24/7 buffet restaurant and three pools, plus a poolside bar. Some rooms are spacious and sunny, with basic but contemporary decor and nice amenities such as flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and electric kettles. However, many units are showing extensive maintenance and cleanliness issues (especially in bathrooms) and a few are dark and musty.
Frendz Resort And Hostel Boracay
Boracay, Malay, Panay Island
Frendz Resort Boracay is a no-frills hostel with 10 traditionally decorated bungalows, both private and shared, in Station 2. Upgraded rooms have air-conditioning and there are female-only dorm options, but not all have en-suite bathrooms. A simple open-air common area houses a restaurant and bar, but guests at the nearby Casamso Boracay sister hotel get access, and it can be too crowded as a result. Even so, perks like the free pasta night score rave reviews from backpackers. It's not directly on the beach, nor in the most convenient spot down a tucked-away alley, but it's still close to dining and nightlife.
Island Jewel Inn
Boracay, Malay, Panay Island
The Island Jewel Inn is a good option in the budget category for its affordable rates. The small, simple hotel is on a quiet street near White Beach in Station 3. The 10 air-conditioned rooms are clean and functional, but have dated amenities. A simple breakfast is included, and there's a small restaurant and bar that requires pre-booking for dinners.
