The 1,740-room Beau Rivage Resort & Casino is an upper-middle-range hotel along the coast in Biloxi. An MGM Resorts International property, the Beau Rivage has all that you'd expect from a casino hotel -- multiple restaurants, meeting and event spaces, and an arcade to keep the kids busy. Other amenities include a spa and salon, outdoor swimming pool, and 18-hole golf course for guests only. The guest rooms and suites have classic furnishings in gold tones, as well as flat-screen TVs, bathtubs, and separate walk-in showers. Free Wi-Fi and valet parking add to its value. If the furnishings are a little too dated for your taste, check out the more modern Hard Rock Hotel & Casino next door.
Scene
Large casino property with dated interiors; attracts a range of travelers
Along with the Hard Rock and Harrah's, the Beau Rivage -- part of the MGM Resorts International portfolio -- is one of the big casino properties in Biloxi. Guests are first greeted by the free valet under the hotel's large porte-cochere. Once inside, colorful, floral carpeting stretches the large lobby, where people are checking in at the large front desk, or standing under the glass sunroof while smoking a cigarette. The dated decor continues with floral fabric and wallpaper throughout, though the ever-changing arrangements of flowers, plants, and pumpkins is a pretty touch. Though the property sees mostly couples who want to make use of the casino, the Beau Rivage has plenty of families, business professionals, and solo travelers as well.
Location
Along the Gulf of Mexico coast, next door to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino is along the Gulf of Mexico, though it lacks direct beach access; the public beach access is about a 10-minute walk away. It's a good location for gamblers that want to head next door to the Hard Rock or drive five minutes to Harrah's. The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport is a 25-minute drive from the hotel. The Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center is a 15-minute drive from the hotel and the Jefferson Davis Presidential Library is 12 minutes away by car.
Rooms
Classically furnished guest rooms and suites have comfortable beds and flat-screen TVs, but they lack coffeemakers
Guest rooms, which are a spacious 400 square feet, have slightly dated but perfectly adequate furnishings. They feature gold patterned carpet, wooden furniture, and pops of color in the drapes, chair cushions, and throw pillows. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and in-room safes. The Italian marble bathrooms have bathtubs and separate walk-in glass showers, as well as hairdryers and the hotel's spa-brand toiletries. Views vary from city to ocean. Some guests complain about the lack of coffeemakers and mini-fridges.The 95 suites at the hotel have a similar design, but the upgrade means separate living room areas, iHome docking stations, bathrobes, LATHER toiletries, and a whirlpool bathtub.
Features
Outdoor pool and hot tub; spa and salon; fitness center; theater with performances; and multiple meeting spaces
The Beau Rivage has all the typical amenities you would expect from a hotel of this size. The medium-size outdoor pool and adjacent whirlpool is surrounded by a mix of cushioned and plastic lounge chairs. Some covered cabanas are available for rent and pool staff is there to take drink requests. There's also a sundeck next to the pool that overlooks the Gulf of Mexico. The casino has table games and slot machines for adults, while kids can head to the arcade. The salon and spa on-site has a range of treatments available, a steam room, and a sauna. The fitness center is well-equipped with strength-training and cardio machines, free weights, and exercise balls. The hotel also has several gift shops. For business travelers, there's a variety of meeting and event spaces available. There's also a business center with computers and printers, but it costs money to use both. A nice perk is the Fallen Oak Golf Course, an 18-hole course exclusively open to guests. The Beau Rivage Theatre also sees performers like LeAnn Rimes and Tony Bennett.

The Buffet Restaurant serves all three meals, but food gets mixed reviews. Guests can also get a bite from Snacks, the coffee shop Roasted Bean, the Pool Bar and Cafe, and an ice cream shop. There are three bars and lounges at the resort; Eight75 is a cocktail bar with live music nightly, Coast Nightclub frequently has DJs performing, and Breeze Bar is a casual spot in the casino.
