- Gracious owner and staff members are always around to assist guests
- Immaculately clean rooms with charming Victorian decor
- Small pool and outdoor lounge area
- Free daily continental breakfast and free Wi-Fi
Bottom Line
A 14-room guest house within walking distance of downtown Hamilton, Edgehill Manor draws couples, families, and business travelers. In keeping with the home’s original character, rooms at Edgehill Manor feature bright Victorian decor. While some may find rooms a bit dated, they are spotlessly clean and most are fairly spacious. On-site amenities include a small pool and outdoor lounge area, and freebies like daily breakfast and Wi-Fi. The nearby Rosedon Hotel is slightly more elegant and closer to downtown, but rates tend to be more expensive.

Scene
A charming guest house with a quiet atmosphere
Arriving at Edgehill Manor Guest House feels much like arriving at a private home. A long brick driveway leads to a lovely green house, with black shutters and a traditional Bermudian white roof. Inside, the foyer’s dark wood paneling and framed artwork create a cozy feeling of home. Throughout the day, the guest house buzzes with activity — staff members prepare rooms for check-in, the hotel’s owner bakes muffins and pastries for the next morning’s breakfast, and guests seem to arrive almost every hour. But despite the constant ebb and flow, the property’s atmosphere feels laid-back and quiet.
The majority of guests at Edgehill Manor are older couples and business travelers. It’s an ideal spot for guests looking to explore the island, rather than those looking for a beach vacation. Due to its close proximity of downtown Hamilton, many business travelers stay at Edgehill Manor and walk to work each morning. While the hotel can accommodate families (some rooms have sofa beds), there isn’t much for children to do here.
Location
Within walking distance of downtown Hamilton
Edgehill Manor is located in Hamilton, Bermuda’s capital city, and is within walking distance of downtown shops, bars, restaurants, and the ferry terminal. The nearest beach is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel, while more popular south shore beaches are about 15 minutes. L.F. Wade International Airport is about a 25-minute drive. Foreigners are not allowed to rent cars in Bermuda, but can rent mopeds. Other transportation options include taxis and the public bus; the main terminal is a 12-minute walk away, with routes across the island. Despite being expensive, taxis are the most reliable form of transportation. The public bus doesn’t always run as scheduled, and renting a moped can be dangerous for travelers who aren’t accustomed to left-side driving laws or Bermuda’s insanely winding roads.
Rooms
Immaculately clean, Victorian-style rooms
Rooms at Edgehill Manor vary in size and decor, but most are fairly spacious with a Victorian flair. Though some guests may find room decor a bit stuffy or dated, we actually found the floral bedspreads, thick drapery, and antique furniture to be quite charming, and appropriate for the age and style of the house. Decor aside, rooms are immaculately clean and feature amenities like flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, snack baskets, and private outdoor patios or balconies. Some rooms — known as Executive Suites — are equipped with kitchenettes. In all rooms the bathrooms — equipped with shower/tub combos and a single sink — are unexceptional, but again, spotlessly clean.
Features
A small pool and a few freebies
For such a small property, Edgehill Manor has a decently sized pool with lovely lounge chairs and a few umbrella covered tables. The pool is generally empty during the day, but definitely receives more action in the summer months. As far as freebies are concerned, the hotel offers daily breakfast and Wi-Fi. Breakfast consists of coffee, tea, cereal, and toast as well as freshly baked muffins and pastries. Breakfast is served in the communal breakfast room adjacent to the entry foyer. The Wi-Fi is consistently fast, and works equally well across the property.
