Overview

Pros
  • Western Berlin location surrounded by upscale shopping

  • Futuristic interior architecture and decor

  • Penthouse meeting room for business travelers

Cons
  • Not family-friendly (a pro for some)

  • Thriving nightlife makes for late night noise

  • Tiny fitness area

  • Bathroom designs lack privacy

  • No pool

  • No coffeemakers in rooms

Bottom Line

The edgy Hotel Q! is as much a club as it is a hotel, something its NH Berlin Kurfüerstendamm isn't as swanky, but it has larger rooms and cheaper rates.

Scene

Curving lobby and members-only club decked out in dark red

Hotel Q!’s fluid red interior is a stark departure from the angular grey streets of Berlin, with walls flowing into furniture and sliding into floors. The curving lobby opens into a kind of organic chill out chamber that connects to the members-only bar, where it's hard to tell where one grey suede lounge chair ends and another begins. The back-lit bar and recessed ceilings give the space soft glows that complement the music emanating from hidden speakers.

Location

Right off Kurfürstendamm avenue, on a quiet side street

Hotel Q! is central for travelers looking to hit the upscale shopping along Kurfürstendamm avenue in western Berlin. There's easy access to public transportation lines, including the U-Bahn at Uhlandstrasse and the S-Bahn at Savignyplatz, both within short walking distance. Popular eateries and a thriving bar scene keep the area lively at night. Berlin is the capital and largest city in Germany, best known for its nightlife (restaurants and bars stay open late), cafes, museums, palaces, street art, and numerous historic sights. Berlin Tegel Airport is a 15-minute drive north and Berlin Schönefeld Airport is about 25-minutes southeast.

Rooms

Innovative organic design, open baths, and iPod docks

The same fluid design throughout the hotel spills into each of Hotel Q!'s 77 rooms, though heavy dark red is absent in favor of back-lit white walls and dark wood floors. Faded, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges, but no coffeemakers.

Features

The Fox Bar, two outdoor patios, and full spa

The heart of the hotel is the members-only club The Fox Bar, which lets guests mingle with locals in its dim red glow. It also has a backyard patio with tables and communal lounge seating under sail canopies. As an eatery, it serves a breakfast buffet (not included) with varied hot and cold options, catering to its nightlife clientele late into the day on weekends. A hot sand relaxation room.
