Bottom Line

The  Palm Court Apartments is a cozy, residence-style budget hotel that’s popular with groups of English tourists who come for the area's surf, sun, and nightlife. It’s about an eight-minute walk from Levante Beach, in the midst of a tourist district lined with pubs and restaurants that cater to British clientele. The 41 units are clean, with nice tile bathrooms, balconies, and equipped kitchenettes, but they are on the small side and have basic, dated decor. The property's two bars serve hot food at reasonable prices, and the pool is surrounded by a lovely tropical patio. Rates are attractive, but it often sells out. The lower-mid-range Paraiso Ten Apartments offers comparable rates for more spacious apartments plus a pool and bar that serves hot food.

Scene

Casual and cozy budget hotel that’s popular with groups of English tourists

The Palm Court is a cozy place with a bright lobby that’s part of an inner courtyard with a fountain that serves as a planter for tropical plants. The small, tan marble front desk matches the marble on the walls and floors that continue into the adjacent bar/cafeteria. There's also a marble bar and a lovely patio lined by palms. Overall, it's a casual, lively, and friendly place with a beautiful paved boulevard lined with palm trees, restaurants, and hotels just outside its door. Families are occasionally seen here, but it’s more popular with groups of adult tourists from the U.K., and the hotel gets a lot of bachelor/bachelorette parties.

Location

In the tourist district, an eight-minute walk to Levante Beach

This hotel is situated on a  quietish street that’s still in the midst of Benidorm’s tourist district. Between the hotel and the eight-minute walk to Levante Beach are lots of hotels, pubs, and restaurants -- most of which cater to Brits -- with names like Shamrock Irish Pub, Scruffy Murphys, and Yorkshire Pride. Two restaurants are directly across the street, and there's a grocery store a two-minute walk away. Aqualandia, a water park, and Mundomar, a marine animal park, are both a six-minute drive away or about 25-minutes on foot. The Church of San Jaime and the Balcon del Mediterraneo are a 15-minute drive from the hotel. The Terra Mitica amusement park is a 17-minute drive from the hotel. It's a 40- to 45-minute drive to Alicante Airport or about an hour via public transportation.

Rooms

Clean, tidy, and small apartments, with kitchenettes, balconies, dated furniture, and nice bathrooms

The 41 apartments at the Palm Court are clean and tidy, but small and basic, with a dated look. All units are one-bedroom with two twins and sleeper sofas, but some units are a bit larger and include second bathrooms. Expect homey decor -- think painted yellow walls, terra-cotta tile floors, and simple, matching wood furniture (including desks and tables with chairs), plus red upholstered sleeper sofas. Small kitchenettes have granite countertops, fridges, stovetop burners, and basic appliances and utensils. Bedrooms run small, and guests might need to store their clothes in spacious armoires out in the halls. Flat-screen TVs are provided in all units, but there's a fee for in-room Wi-Fi, safes, and use of air-conditioning. Bathrooms are lovely, with design features such as green-and-white mosaic tile and glass shower stalls with hand-held power showerheads.Furnished balconies have views of the pool and/or the surrounding high-rise apartments and hotels. Like most apartment-style hotels in this area, housekeeping occurs weekly. The rooms are generally quiet except during times when the hotel has lots of groups partying well into the night.

Features

Two bars serving hot food, outdoor pool, and free Wi-Fi in public spaces

This small, residence-style hotel has two bars, both of which serve hot food at reasonable prices and have indoor and outdoor seating on lovely tile patios. The pool bar serves a full breakfast menu, and the cafeteria-style bar has sandwiches, pizza, and entrees for lunch and dinner. The front desk also sells candy and other snacks, and there are vending machines in the lobby. Free Wi-Fi is accessible in the bar areas and lobby, though it costs extra in rooms. The average size pool has an attached kiddy pool and is surrounded by lounge chairs, large palm trees, and nice landscaping. Tickets to some of the area’s most popular attractions can be purchased at the front desk. The hotel has no parking facilities, but street parking is immediately outside the hotel. Note that there are no laundry facilities on-site.
