The RH Princesa is a mid-range hotel located in Benidorm, a 10-minute walk from two sandy beaches. The focus here is on families for longer stays, with an all-inclusive option for guests spending at least seven nights, a medium-size pool with a slide and a whirlpool, and an extensive entertainment program. There are plenty of family-friendly amenities, including a kids’ club with a trampoline and mini-golf course. For a small fee guests get access to the spa, which features two indoor pools, a sauna, a steam bath, and a well-equipped fitness center. Most of the 229 rooms have balconies, and all feature contemporary decor, flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. For a quieter stay in a similar location, the hotel’s sister property RH Royal is for adults only.
Scene
A family-friendly mid-range hotel
Housed in a tall cream-colored tower with glass balconies, the RH Princesa doesn’t differ much from the surrounding buildings except for its glass-covered entrance. The lobby is a bright, contemporary space with floor-to-ceiling windows, attractive pink marble walls, and a long curving wooden front desk under midcentury-modern chandeliers. Although the hotel is family-oriented, the vibe is relaxed and mostly quiet except maybe for the area around the pool, which is tight for a hotel this size and has dozens of loungers placed side by side.
Location
A few blocks from two sandy beaches in central Benidorm
The hotel is located on a narrow one-way street in central Benidorm. There are a few other hotels on the same street, as well as casual eateries and bars with sidewalk seating. Guests can find a supermarket and several other small shops within a coupe of blocks, and there are plenty of other dining and shopping options closer to the seafront. The beach is a 10-minute walk away, and there is another long stretch of sand also within walking distance. The town’s main bus station is a five- to 10-minute drive away, and the airport can be reached by car in about 45 minutes. Expect to pay extra for indoor and covered outdoor parking, which is common in Benidorm.
Rooms
Bright rooms with contemporary accent walls, flat-screen TVs, and minibars
The hotel has 229 rooms in categories ranging from Single (which lack balconies) to Superior. All rooms benefited from a 2015 renovation, which replaced thin blue and yellow bedspreads and matching curtains with eggplant bedcovers and white drapes. The basic tan wood furniture got an upgrade, and pale blue accent walls were redone with a bold, batik-inspired purple-and-white print. All rooms feature flat-screen TVs, minibars, air-conditioning, and electric kettles. The bathrooms are basic, with granite countertops and shower/tub combos. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the pool; Single rooms do not have balconies.Family Rooms include two double beds (directly next to each other) and can sleep up to four guests. The only difference between Double and Superior Rooms is the bed type: While Double units have two twins, Superior Rooms have two double beds and offer a little bit more space. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, but there is a daily or weekly fee for use of safes in the rooms.
