The three-pearl Benidorm Celebrations is true to its name as a party-centric hotel geared toward groups of energetic revelers. Located in a residential area, it's a five-minute walk to bars, nightclubs, and shops, and a 10-minute walk to Levante Beach. Its all-inclusive option includes meals as well as drinks at its outdoor pool bar, dance club with indoor pool, and "chill-out" lounge with Balinese-style beds. The buffet-style restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The 93 apartment-style rooms have kitchenettes and marble bathrooms -- and Superior Apartments have spacious balconies -- but decor is a bit dated and bedrooms can be tiny. While the hotel has a children's pool and families are welcome, it's really geared toward young adults looking to party. Travelers vacationing with children might want to consider the nearby Paraiso Ten Apartments, which is more family-oriented.
Scene
A lively, adult-oriented hotel with several places to gather and party
The “celebration” portion of this hotel’s name rings true, pointing to the groups of young partiers that frequent this property. Even the lobby is festive, with a bright-blue registration desk and beige marble floors reflecting mirrored panels on the ceiling. Arriving guests are offered a drink, and many choose the all-inclusive drinks option. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out on the blue waters of the outdoor pool, which has a bar and is a busy gathering place. A “chill-out” lounge has Balinese-style beds and (you guessed it) bar service. The indoor dance club is popular, with a resident DJ spinning nightly beats and even a pool. A cluster of sofas in a far corner offers a more secluded spot for intimate conversations. While families are welcome at the hotel -- there's even a kiddy pool -- this is most certainly a party hotel for twentysomethings traveling with friends.
Location
In a residential area, within walking distance of the beach and nightlife
Located on a small hill in the residential area of Rincon de Loix, Benidorm Celebrations is about a four- to five-minute walk to numerous restaurants and nightlife, with a supermarket and gift shop right across the street. It’s about an eight- to 10-minute walk to Levante Beach, and an eight-minute drive (or a 25-minute walk) to the historic center and its main shopping streets. Aqualandia, a water park, and Mundomar, a marine animal park, are about a five-minute drive or a 15-minute walk from the hotel. The Church of San Jaime and the Balcon del Mediterraneo are an 18-minute drive away. Terra Mitica, an amusement park, is a 20-minute drive from the hotel. Alicante Airport is a 45-minute drive or a 75-minute trip via public transportation.
Rooms
Apartment-style rooms with kitchenettes and marble bathrooms, some with large balconies
There is nothing especially distinctive about Benidorm Celebrations' 93 apartment-style rooms. They're a bit on the small side for apartments, but they offer ample storage space. The units are bright, but the decor, with reddish-brown furniture and matching wall paneling and trim, is dated. The floors are white tile, and the living areas are painted light yellow, with blue accents in the drapes, bedspreads, upholstered sofas, and decorative pillows. Colorful murals of people frolicking in the surf and sun decorate some walls. Each living area has a small table, a desk, sleeper sofa, and two twin beds that are partially separated from the kitchenettes by a half wall. The kitchen areas have gray marble walls and pink-granite counters. Stovetop burners, sinks, mini-fridges, and utensils are included. Bedrooms can be tiny, with barely enough room to exit the double beds on either side. Bathrooms are more spacious, with gray marble walls, beige tile floors, shower/tub combos, and spacious white wood vanities with white ceramic sinks. Most apartments are designed to sleep a maximum of five people, but 19 units can fit in six. Superior Rooms have flat-screen TVs and spacious balconies, with some offering partial ocean views. Standard Rooms offer views of the pools or surrounding buildings, and some have tube-style TVs. The hotel provides toiletries, but hairdryers must be requested at the front desk for a refundable deposit. Rooms come with free Wi-Fi, and safes are provided for a fee. As a popular party hotel, expect to hear some noise from your neighbors.
Features
Buffet restaurant, dance club with indoor pool, outdoor pool with bar, all-inclusive option, free Wi-Fi
This hotel's features are geared toward young partiers, and the large number of bachelor and bachelorette parties it hosts. Its buffet-style restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All-inclusive packages that include meals, drinks through the early evening, and late-night snacks are available. All-inclusive upgrades can be booked at check in, but everyone in a group must opt for them. The restaurant is part of a large indoor entertainment complex that encompasses a dance club with a nightly DJ, platforms for Go-Go dancers, a bar, TVs, a billiards table, and a pool with plastic grass surrounding it. The outdoor pool is surrounded by the same grass carpeting, as well as lounge chairs and a small kiddy pool. It also has a bar next to a wooden bridge over the pool and a rock formation with a waterfall. An outdoor “chill-out” area has appealing tropical landscaping and Balinese-style beds with bar service. Vending machines and a computer station with Internet access are available in the lobby. Private parking is free but limited and not guaranteed. Some free street parking is available, but it’s difficult to find in the peak summer season. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas.
