Belroy Hotel

The Belroy Hotel is a contemporary hotel that attracts a mix of domestic and international travelers who want to be near the beach and bars. Interiors are minimalist and modern, including the lobby with black floors, white and red faux-leather armchairs, and a blue reception desk. Two restaurants include a low-ceilinged, utilitarian buffet eatery and Umai, a Japanese restaurant with swirling brushed concrete floors and tatami mats. The back wall is dominated by a print of Tokyo and Mount Fuji, and imitation plastic tree vines hang from the ceiling, making the room seem more intimate than it would otherwise. Although travelers spend most of their time outside the hotel, an outdoor pool and cafe terrace, and indoor pool in an atrium-style setting are alluring enough to occupy guests when they're on-site. The atmosphere is largely quiet and relaxed, attracting a crowd of mostly couples. 

The Belroy Hotel is a block away (about a two-minute walk) from the promenade and Platja de Llevant, Benidorm’s wide and sandy beach. It takes 13 minutes to walk to the Parroquia de Sant Jaume i Santa Anna and the Plaça de Sant Jaume, a pretty square in the center of Benidorm’s old town, right next to the Mirador, a historic viewpoint once used to defend Benidorm. Drives to Alicante Airport take between 45 minutes and an hour, while Murcia-San Javier takes between 90 minutes and two hours. 

All of the hotel’s 125 rooms are spacious and bright, decorated in a decidedly minimalist fashion, with light marble floors, beige walls, and teal bed throws. Floating desks, a couple of white plastic chairs, and closets with hanging space and a few drawers come standard, as do furnished terraces. Upgraded rooms add seating areas and larger balconies, some of which have sea views, though they're largely blocked by tall buildings across the street. Attractive gray concrete bathrooms have shower/tub combos -- jetted in higher-category units -- hairdryers, and basic toiletries. Small key-style safes are in the closets, but they require a fee. Flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, mini-fridges, and kettles are provided.

Set in a sunny terrace is the hotel’s somewhat small outdoor pool, which has a shallow area for kids. During inclement weather, guests can utilize the smaller indoor pool, which has a glass ceiling and wall of windows to let in light. There are only a couple of loungers here, and they're also limited by the outdoor pool. Upstairs from the pool terrace is a bar with dining sets and comfortable sofas, as well as a couple of canopied daybeds. As well as the pool bar, which serves drinks and light snacks, the hotel has a cafe with outdoor seating and live entertainment at night. Two restaurants include a buffet-style eatery serving Mediterranean and international fare, and a Japanese eatery. Food on the whole receives mixed reviews. A small, ill-equipped gym and a sauna are on-site, but there's no spa. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
