This mid-range, apartment-style property is conveniently located right by the beach and close to restaurants and nightlife. Though the hotel has four pools, on-site dining options are limited to only one restaurant and a bar, but all-inclusive options are available. The 135 apartments are outfitted with kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, and terraces, but they're a bit dated in terms of decor and only suites have air-conditioning. Despite the kid-friendly game rooms and children’s pool, the property attracts a young, hip crowd that sometimes incites noise complaints. Terralta Apartments is a good alternative that’s family-friendly, has apartments with air-conditioning, and a mini-mart on-site.
Scene
Basic, apartment-style hotel attracting families and groups of friends
There’s nothing attractive about the exterior of the
Apartamentos Levante Club -- it’s a tall, dark brown brick building. By
contrast, the interior is relaxed and welcoming. Guests are greeted in a simple lobby that doubles as a bar, with a granite-topped wooden front desk and bar backed by wooden wall panelling and mirrored shelving stocked with bottles of liquor. The rest of the space is filled with round
wooden tables and chairs on a glossy white floor. A small stage on one side is shrouded by blue velvet curtains, while an atrium skylight and floor-to-ceiling windows fill the space with natural light and offer views of one of the pools. A red vintage London telephone booth is a fun touch that adds a pop of color. The buffet restaurant is a bit more intimate thanks
to low lighting and white tablecloth-clad tables, but it's still casual, with plastic orange chairs adding brightness to mostly neutral hues. Though the property caters to families with
several kid-friendly amenities like a huge game room and multiple pools, travelers
should keep in mind that there has been an increase in groups booking
the apartments for rowdy, party weekends.
Location
Less than a five-minute walk to the beach and near restaurants and shopping
One of the hotel's best assets is its convenient location that's a three-minute walk to Levante Beach. There’s a number of bars and restaurants on surrounding streets
as well as shopping on nearby Avenue del Mediterraneo, which is a two-minute walk away. The Old Town is about a 15-minute drive from here. Other popular area attractions include Aqualandia, a water park, and Mundomar, a marine animal park, both of which can be reached in about five minutes by car, or 20 minutes on foot. Terra Mitica, an amusement park, is a 20-minute drive. It’s a
45-minute drive to Alicante Airport.
Rooms
Apartments with flat-screen TVs, sofa beds, terraces, and kitchens, but dated decor
There are a variety of units
available here, including studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Decor is dated, with patterned bedspreads, simple wooden furniture, and white walls adorned with some tropical prints. Some units have been more recently refurbished, like the James Bond Suite
that has sleek white floors, black furniture, and James Bond wall art -- though it can get a bit gaudy with life-size cutouts of characters or large
wall stickers. All rooms come with flat-screen TVs,
sofa beds, terraces, and kitchens with refrigerators, ovens, stoves, sinks,
kettles, and microwaves. Only Suite Apartments are outfitted with
air-conditioning and washing machines. Wi-Fi is available for a fee per device.
Complaints have been made concerning maintenance issues and noisy
neighbors (usually young party-goers). The white or tan tile bathrooms are small and don’t offer much counter space. They’re outfitted with showers
and toiletries, but no hairdryers. Note that cash deposits are required upon
check-in for the apartments, as are deposits for the TV remote. Daily room
cleaning incurs a fee, though they often clean rooms once every three
days.
Features
Pools, buffet restaurant, bar, live entertainment, game room, and Wi-Fi for a fee
Apartamentos Levante Club has the basic features found in most resort-style hotels in the area, including two outdoor pools, each with a distinct atmosphere. The larger one has a separate children’s pool and a pool bar, and is generally busy and loud. Those looking for a quieter experience can check out the smaller pool. There’s also an indoor pool that’s heated in the winter and a hot tub. Main meals are served at the buffet restaurant, though there have been some complaints of food quality. All-inclusive meals are offered. At night, the main bar offers live shows and drinks. Kid-friendly amenities include a large game room with a variety of video games, foosball and ping-pong tables, and play areas, as well as an outdoor basketball court that doubles as a soccer field. Public computers can be used for a fee in the game room. Parking also incurs a daily fee. Wi-Fi is available for a fee as well, and can only be used on one device at a time.
