The
hotel has few features
The 105-room Stormont Hotel is an upper-middle-range property located in a residential area of east Belfast. All of the spacious, contemporary rooms feature flat-screen
TVs, iPod docks, and electric kettles, but there are no
in-room mini-fridges or minibars. The hotel's on-site upscale restaurant, La Scala
Bistro, is a favorite with locals -- especially its Sunday Brunch -- and
the cocktail bar is popular for afternoon tea. There is ample free
parking and free Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the hotel. With extensive conference facilities and large, bright lounge areas, this is a popular pick for business travelers. For a contemporary hotel centrally located in Belfast, travelers could consider the Jurys Inn Belfast.
Scene
Modern hotel with excessive purple accents
Located
on a main road leading to Belfast city center, the Stormont Hotel is
housed in a nondescript four-story building with a huge adjacent
parking lot. The lobby area is bright and spacious thanks to its high
ceilings and tall windows. Purple is prevalent in the decor of the
hotel's public spaces: The lobby is filled with violet-colored
carpets with spiral designs, the seating areas are made up of purple
velour-covered sofas and
plush armchairs, and the stairwell is also covered in purple
carpeting. The large lobby area features a grand piano, with live
music often playing at Sunday brunches and special events. Public spaces are neat, tidy, and well-maintained, and the residential area -- with floor to ceiling windows -- provides another bright place to lounge. The
on-site restaurant and cocktail bar is very popular with locals, and
evenings and weekends can be quite busy. And overall the hotel is popular with
business travelers utilizing the conference facilities and couples on weekend city breaks.

Rooms
Bright rooms decorated in a simple, modern style
Rooms at the Stormont Hotel are bright and decorated
in a simple but tasteful style. The tan patterned wall-to-wall
carpeting matches the curtains, the attractive furniture is finished
in warm mahogany tones, and red or turquoise easy chairs add
bursts of color to the space. Bathrooms are tiled in soft tones of
beige and white, and are equipped with either shower/tub combos or
large walk-in showers, both featuring rainfall showerheads. The
Superior and Executive Rooms are available as singles, doubles, and
twins (accommodating a maximum of two adults) and are well-equipped
with amenities such as flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, coffee-
and tea-making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Other handy extras include safes, irons and ironing boards, hairdryers, and toiletries in the
bathroom. The Junior Suites also feature “super king-size” beds,
separate bathtubs and walk-in shower units, and a small living room
area with pullout sofas.
Some also include dining tables and chairs, but minibars or mini-fridges
are not provided in any of the rooms.
