The 174-room, upper-middle-range Sueno Hotels Golf Belek is not your typical beachfront all-inclusive property -- it is quiet, relatively small, and has fewer kid-friendly amenities than most other resorts in the area. The focus here is on golf instead of on family fun, thanks to two outstanding PGA golf courses, a golf academy, and pro coaches. However, the hotel also offers free access to its high-end sister property Sueno Hotels Deluxe Belek, located within the same complex and featuring a large water park, several pools and restaurants, a stunning 24-hour kids’ club, and a vibrant entertainment program. Rooms at the Golf are clean, but decor may feel a tad dated for the price.
Scene
Quiet hotel with homey golf clubhouse-style interiors and two PGA golf courses
The quieter and smaller of two hotels built inside the Suenos Hotels complex, aptly named Golf Belek, caters to golfers. The hotel’s interiors are homey and warm, with golf clubhouse-style details such as wood paneling throughout and tartan patterns on carpets. The overall feel is cozy but somewhat passe; expect terrazzo accents, two glass exterior elevators, and a combination of white contemporary armchairs, and ornate tufted couches in golden hues in the lobby. Outside, big wooden decks jut out over a lake adjacent to the on-site golf courses, offering serene views and a soothing atmosphere. The hotel’s pools are small compared to other all-inclusives in Belek, but then again most guests spend their days at the links or sunbathing at the beach. The vibe here is relaxing and peaceful rather than bustling, with no daily entertainment program for adults (though there are activities for children), and just a couple of quiet bars. The hotel is no match to its sleek, high-end sister property Sueno Hotels Deluxe (the other hotel within the resort complex), but it also doesn’t try to compete with it. They each cater to different types of guests -- the Golf is for golfers, with golf clubs storage rooms and an overall decor style that feels straight out of Scotland. The Deluxe is huge and luxurious, with tons of family-friendly amenities, chic interiors, and high-end services. However, guests staying at the Golf can use all of its sister property’s amenities free of charge, including the restaurants, the pools, the massive kids’ club, and the beach. There is free shuttle service between both properties.Belek is a popular golf destination and there is no shortage of excellent resorts offering on-site courses. Those looking to splurge may want to check out the Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort or the Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort. However, there are other wonderful golf properties in the hotel’s same price range, including the Gloria Golf Resort and Cornelia Diamond Golf Resort & Spa. For something cheaper, the Sentido Zeynep Golf & Spa offers a similar experience to the Sueno Hotels Golf Belek.
Location
Quiet location at the end of a small road running through golf courses
The Sueno Hotels Golf Belek is located at the very end of a road lined on one side by golf courses and by large beachfront all-inclusives on the other. There is nothing within walking distance of the property but for other hotels, though a few restaurants and shops can be found about a 15-minute drive away, both in Kadriye and Belek. The hotel owns two of the best golf courses in Belek, but there several other fabulous ones within a short drive, including the Gloria courses, the Titanic, the National, and the Montgomerie. Antalya and its airport are each about a 30-minute drive from the hotel.
Rooms
Cozy, comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi, free minibars, and balconies
The hotel has 174 rooms, all housed in a large building overlooking the golf courses. Big beds have mattresses that were updated in 2015, and the long work desks and small seating areas help make rooms comfortable and homey. Decor, though, is a tad dated overall, with beige carpets, simple wooden furniture, and chocolate-brown comforters with large flowers. Dark leather-like button headboards lend units a classic boys' club style in line with the rest of the common spaces, but the general feel is that rooms are in need of some decor updates. Standard amenities include free Wi-Fi, free minibars (restocked daily free of charge), LCD TVs, air-conditioning, and safes. Bathrooms are clean and contemporary, with dark brown wall tiles, spacious shower/tub combos, and rectangular sinks over white counters. Wall-mounted hairdryers and a limited range of toiletries are also provided. All rooms have spacious balconies overlooking either the serene golf courses or the quiet but somewhat less appealing entrance of the hotel. Suites have a living area with a sofa bed, and Royal Suites feature jetted tubs, an extra half-bath, and a dining table for six guests.
Features
Limited on-site amenities -- but free access to its neighboring sister property
The hotel is small and quiet by Belek all-inclusive standards, with just a handful of on-site amenities and a limited entertainment program. The main pool is small and quiet, with a couple dozen loungers and umbrellas, golf views, and a small kiddy pool. There is no entertainment here, but a small kids’ club with indoor and outdoor areas offers daily activities for children year-round. A pleasant heated indoor pool with large windows offering serene views keeps non-golfers and kids entertained during the day in the winter. The game room features pool and ping-pong tables, and arcade machines. There is also a small theater showing international movies. The Suenos Hotels Golf Belek has a small spa complete with a hammam and a sauna (both free of charge), as well as a couple of treatment rooms. Couples can book a private wooden pavilion built over the lake for outdoor massages. The fitness center is also small but features cardio and strength-training machines, and large windows offering golf views. Guests can also book two hard tennis courts and two professional soccer fields free of charge. While amenities are a little limited at the Golf Belek, guests get free access to all amenities at the hotel’s sister property Deluxe Belek, located within the same resort complex. Golf carts shuttle guests between both hotels, which are just a few hundred meters apart. Aside from varied and excellent dining options, the Deluxe features several pools with entertainment, a large water park, a beautiful spa, and an outstanding 24-hour kids’ club with sleeping rooms and separate outdoor areas for babies, young children, and teens. The convention center at the Deluxe property offers several meeting rooms with audiovisual equipment, but there are also two smaller ones at the Golf hotel, one of which has large windows looking out over the golf course. Both hotels also share a private stretch of beach with a large wooden pier with loungers and a bar. There is also plenty of seating on the sand, and an area for children complete with a playground. Lovely wooden cabanas with waiter service are available for a fee.
All-Inclusive / Food
Few options on-site, but more restaurants at the sister property
The main restaurant serves a huge buffet spread that spills over to the large terrace overlooking the golf courses. Dozens of tables decorated with white tablecloths dot the wooden deck meandering over a peaceful lake, while long display tables packed with all types of food offer countless options, both Turkish and international. During low occupancy periods the restaurant remains closed for lunch and dinner, but guests can dine at any of the hotel’s sister property’s restaurants as well. There is also an on-site a la carte restaurant (open for dinner only) and two bars, including one with outdoor space.
Golf
Two excellent golf courses and an academy with professional coaches
The hotel is known for its two outstanding 18-hole golf courses. The par 72 Pines course is the longest and most challenging of the two, with narrow fairways lined with pine tree forests and dotted with lakes and bunkers. The par 69 Dunes golf course has shorter approaches and wider fairways but its island greens make it challenging as well. Both courses share a golf academy with pro coaches, and a pro shop with clothes and accessories. Club storage service is available also at the hotel.
