Scene

Relaxing beachfront resort with massive pools and stylish interiors

The property’s sheer size (there is another hotel and two golf courses on-site) and all-inclusive status may evoke images of bustling pools, hectic buffets, and loud entertainment, but the Sueno Hotels Deluxe Belek has a surprisingly mellow vibe. The property is tucked away at the very end of a cul-de-sac shared with the Calista Luxury Resort, and its entertainment options during the day are confined to one pool at the end of the property. Add to this the fact that the hotel has one of the most stunning kids’ club in the area -- which keeps kids away from the common areas -- and it is easy to forget that families make up the vast majority of guests during the summer. In the winter, most guests are either couples or business travelers who have meetings on-site, and the atmosphere is even quieter. Sueno Hotels Deluxe Belek is known for its massive pools, all of which are connected to form one of the largest pools in the area. The grounds are pretty and well-maintained, with small white peninsulas housing small cabanas jutting into the pools, manicured gardens, and many palm trees lining the pools. Interiors are no less impressive, in particular the lobby, which is outfitted with stylish couches, club chairs, and tufted armchairs in navy, chocolate-brown, and white hues. Though the hotel opened in mid-2015, we saw some wear and tear in hallways, which had stained carpets, many scuff marks, and torn wallpaper. The rest of the property, however, was in good shape. The hotel is a solid luxury property, but it isn’t quite in the same league as the five-pearl heavyweights in the area -- the Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort and the Regnum Carya Golf Resort & Spa. These resorts offer top-notch extras such as helicopter airport transfers, and have a wider array of villas than the Sueno Hotels Deluxe Belek. With two golf courses on-site, this property is a good pick for travelers looking to hit the links, but its sister property Sueno Hotels Golf Belek has more amenities for golfers -- including storage space for clubs-- and a more adult atmosphere.

Location

Quiet location at the end of a small road running through golf courses

The Sueno Hotels Deluxe Belek is located at the very end of a road lined on one side by golf courses and by large beachfront all-inclusives on the other. There is nothing within walking distance of the property except for other hotels, though a few restaurants and shops can be found about a 15-minute drive away, both in Kadriye and in Belek. The hotel owns two of the best golf courses in Belek, but there are several other fabulous ones within a short drive, including the Gloria courses, the Titanic, the National, and the Montgomerie. Side -- known for its stunning ruins and lovely seaside lounges -- can be found about 50 minutes away. Antalya and the airport are each about a 30-minute drive from the hotel.

Rooms

Large, stylish rooms with upmarket amenities; some suites have private pools

The hotel has 455 rooms, all located in the main building except for the three villas, which are in a separate section by the main pool. Decor varies in style depending on room type and location, but all rooms have a chic mix of classic and contemporary elements that make them feel posh. Silver tufted headboards and matching curtains stand out against the more classic wooden floors and wood wall paneling in some rooms. In others, the combination of smoky-gray walls and turquoise couches makes for modern, vibrant spaces. Rooms start at a sizable 484 square feet, which allows for an uncluttered feel. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open onto spacious furnished balconies overlooking either the golf courses, gardens, or sea. Standard amenities are on par with other luxury properties, and include large LCD TVs, quality beds topped with soft duvets, and minibars stocked with beer, sodas, water, juice, and candy (replenished daily free of charge). Suites and villas are stocked with wine and a selection of hard liquors, which are all free as well. Other standard amenities include pillow menus with five different options, electric kettles with free tea and coffee, and robes and slippers. Some rooms and suites are outfitted with private pools on the terrace, all big enough for laps and offering sea views. Bathrooms are spacious and stylish, with white vanities that range between classic and sleek, rain showers (and separate jetted tubs in most suites), scales, and an array of Bulgari toiletries. Many room types have walk-in closets as well. Higher category suites and Villas come with turndown service, free room service, and free meals at any of the a la carte restaurants. Royal Suites and Villas also feature butlers, VIP airport transfers, and free fully serviced beach cabanas. Additionally, each Villa has five en-suite bedrooms, a kitchenette, hammam, sauna, steam room, fitness equipment, massage room, and hot tub.

Features

Outstanding kids’ club, excellent spa, and huge pools

The kids’ club is hands down the most outstanding feature at the Sueno Hotels Deluxe Belek. It features dozens of fun options spread over several floors, including a nap room, bumping cars, a Ferris wheel, a ballet studio, a costume design room, several playgrounds, sports facilities for older children and teens, and even a 7D movie theater. There are also several pools of different depths for babies, toddlers, and older children. The kids’ club is open 24/7 in the summer and is free for all guests. Another definite highlight is the 62,400-square-foot spa, which offers a huge array of body treatments and salon services, 24 massage rooms, and VIP areas for couples. The spa facilities are spread over two floors, and there is a section free for all guests, complete with a beautiful hammam, sauna, and steam room. In addition, there are ice, sand, hay, and relaxation rooms, as well as a jetted pool, an adventure tunnel with different types of showers, and several kinds of saunas that guests can use for a fee. Fresh fruit juices are free for all guests at the spa’s Vitamin Bar. The pools are huge and clean, with tons of loungers, several big whirlpools, and a number of small islands with private cabanas that guests can rent for a fee. There is a section for activities and games a little away from the main area, which keeps the atmosphere quiet and peaceful in the rest of the decks. There is also a heated indoor pool at the spa that connects to a smaller outdoor pool open year-round. The water park is located adjacent to the beach and is outfitted with 10 slides and a kiddy area with smaller ones and a few cute water features.

All-Inclusive / Food

Buffet and a la carte restaurants, a 24-hour lounge, and tons of snacks

The main restaurant serves a huge buffet spread for all three main meals, including regional and international options. The dining room is divided into five sections, each with a different decor style, and a big outdoor area overlooking the gardens. Those wanting a lighter meal can choose from a big array of snacks at Sueno Square, a seasonal food court with booths for fresh pastries, Turkish pancakes, jacket potatoes, salads, and ice cream, among other options. The hotel also offers a range of a la carte restaurants, including Mexican, Turkish, Asian, Italian, barbecue, and fish. However, none are free, and some are only open seasonally. The all-inclusive package is not as comprehensive as the Maxx Royal’s, Regnum Carya’s, or even Rixos Premium’s, but it does include a good selection of top-shelf drinks.

Golf

Two excellent golf courses and an academy with professional coaches

The hotel is known for its two outstanding 18-hole golf courses. The par 72 Pines course is the longest and most challenging of the two, with narrow fairways lined with pine tree forests and dotted with lakes and bunkers. The par 69 Dunes golf course has shorter approaches and wider fairways but its island greens make it challenging as well. Both courses share a golf academy with pro coaches, and a pro shop with clothes and accessories. Club storage service is available at sister property Sueno Hotels Golf Belek, located within the same complex.
