Bottom Line

Fully renovated in 2012, the 515-room Crystal Tat is one of the mellower all-inclusive options in Belek. Like most resorts in the area, it sits on a lovely sandy beach and offers a long list of amenities, including several pools, a spa, buffet and a la carte dining options, and a kids’ club. This upscale hotel, however, stands out for its cleanliness, relaxing atmosphere, and good food, although some guests complain that the buffet can get repetitive after a few days. Rooms are simple and generic, but feature free Wi-Fi, free minibars (replenished daily), flat-screen TVs, and balconies, many offering sea views. The Crystal Tat draws mostly families and couples, but it is also a good option for golfers, as it has special guest rates at a nearby 27-hole golf course.

Scene

A sprawling family-friendly resort that is popular with golfers in the winter

Although the Crystal Tat Beach Golf Resort & Spa offers plenty of kid-friendly amenities, its mellower vibe appeals to couples as well. There are activities around the main pool, a kids’ club, a water park, and family-friendly entertainment, but the noise volume is kept relatively low for an all-inclusive, and there are adult-only areas for those seeking a break from the action around the main pool deck. The hotel’s sprawling grounds allow for an uncrowded feel even during peak season, with big landscaped lawns dotted with palm trees and loungers, large decks with plenty of seating, and a long, private stretch of beach. While the hotel does not have its own golf course, it does offer special rates at the nearby Titanic Golf Club, which makes it a popular pick for golfers in the off-peak season. The lobby and the main restaurant -- both decorated in an ornate style that draws heavily on the gold -- may feel a little overdone at first sight, but the rest of the common spaces have a more casual look. The main courtyard has black patio furniture adorned with cheerful yellow, fuchsia, lime-green and turquoise pillows, and the snack bar features minimalist black and white plastic chairs. A spacious grass area right adjacent to the beach is dotted with rope hammocks on wooden brackets, and thatched cabanas feature curtains for added privacy, as well as waiter service and mini-fridges. The Crystal Tat offers good value overall, but those looking for something a little cheaper may want to compare rates at the neighboring Adora Golf Resort Hotel, though its rooms are basic and dated and it can get loud during peak season. The Limak Arcadia Golf Resort is another solid option in the area, as is the Sentido Zeynep, but the Crystal Tat has more contemporary rooms than either of them. The neighboring Club Mega Saray is a tad more expensive than the rest, but those seeking a more boisterous atmosphere may find it fun.

Location

Quiet beachfront location amid golf courses and other resorts

The Crystal Tat is located on a two-lane road lined by serene golf courses on one side and beachfront resorts on the other. There is nothing within walking distance of the property but for other hotels, but Kadriye and Belek are each less than a 15-minute drive away and are both home to a few restaurants and shops. The dolmus (local minibus) to Kadriye stops right outside the hotel, and there is a taxi stand by the main entrance. The Belek area is known for its world-class golf, and there are over a dozen golf courses within a five-minute drive of the hotel, including the National, the three Gloria courses, and the Carya. The hotel offers special rates to its guests at the 27-hole Titanic, located a three-minute drive fmro the property. Antalya city center is about a 40-minute drive away, and the hotel is less than a half-hour drive from the airport.

Rooms

Generic contemporary rooms with free Wi-Fi and free minibars; many have sea views

The hotel has 515 rooms, including Standard Rooms for three guests, and Family Rooms for up to two adults and two kids. All are decorated in the same contemporary generic style, with basic blond wood furniture, clean lines, and laminate floors. Brown sofa beds and striped curtains and bed runners add some color, but classic paintings with golden ornate frames clash a little with the overall simple style. About a fifth of the rooms have a full sea views, and all 515 have small balconies furnished with two chairs and a table. A handful of rooms are equipped with bunk beds for children and are a tad bigger, but at about 247 square feet Standard Rooms are compact. Family Rooms feature two bedrooms and one bathroom, and there are six wheelchair-accessible units. Standard in-room amenities include flat-screen TVs and minibars stocked with free beer, water, soda and juices (replenished daily free of charge). Unlike at many other all-inclusive in the area, free Wi-Fi is strong and reliable in rooms. Bathrooms are smallish but clean and comfortable, with spacious walk-in showers, an array of toiletries, and wall-mounted hairdryers.

Features

Beach, four pools, spa, fitness center, tennis courts, and a kids’ club

Like the vast majority of the resorts in Belek, the Crystal Tat has its own private stretch of beach. There are plenty of loungers and umbrellas on the sand, and a grass lawn by the beach offers thatched cabanas with mini-fridges and waiter service that guests can rent for a fee. Drinks, snacks, and traditional fresh "gozleme" are available at the bar located between the beach and the main pool. There is music and entertainment around the main pool during the day, but those seeking some peace and quiet can also relax by the adult-only pool. The water park has several slides for kids, as well as a cobra-shaped half-pipe one for teens and adults. The large spa features Roman bath-inspired decor, with large white statues, Doric columns adorning the entrance, and Classical-style door lintels. Several treatment rooms offer aromatherapy, reflexology, hot stone treatments, and an array of massages. There is also a spacious indoor pool (heated in the winter only) with a few loungers and big windows overlooking the grounds. The fitness center has an array of cardio and strength-training machines, and there are five tennis courts, a putting green, and a basketball court in the gardens. The kids’ club offers a wide array of daily activities for children 4 to 12 years old, as well as a shaded kiddy pool with water features, and two playgrounds. The hotel also offers a ballroom that can be divided into three smaller meeting rooms -- each with their own audiovisual equipment -- and free parking. Free, reliable Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

All-Inclusive / Food

Solid buffet restaurant with plenty of regional specialties, and four a la cartes

The main restaurant serves a quality buffet spread for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a large dining room with a spacious covered terrace with soft music. There are dozens of types of salads, as well as fish, chicken and beef stations and an array of traditional Turkish staples such as "pide," herb yogurt sauce, baklava pastries, and kebabs. The lunch spread is tasty, but the dinner selection seems to offer more variety. Still, some guests have complained that the menu doesn't vary much during the week and can get repetitive. For dinner, guests can also choose from four different a la carte restaurants once per stay, including Mexican, fish, Italian and Turkish. A la cartes require reservations and don’t open every day in the winter. Although there are no 24-hour restaurants or bars at the Crystal Tat, food and drinks are available around the clock. The Sultan bar is open overnight (not during the day), offering a small selection of snacks and breakfast items along with local drinks. In addition, guests can order 24-hour room service. Imported drinks are not included in the Ultra All-Inclusive package.
