Vintage Hotel & Lounge – Restaurant is a small mid-range hotel perched on the side of a rocky cliff overlooking a scenic bay. All 10 rooms are sea-facing, and most have balconies with stunning views. The hotel doesn’t have a pool, but guests have privileged access to a salt-water pool in a residential complex just next to the hotel. A path leads down to the water’s edge where guests can also take a swim in the sea. The hotel's complex includes a popular restaurant and cocktail lounge with a large patio overlooking the bay. Rates are more expensive here than other three-pearls in the center of town, like Hotel Rosa and Aiguaclara Hotel, which actually offer more value for the money, but lack the amazing view.
Scene
Charming boutique hotel popular with couples and families
Vintage Hotel & Lounge – Restaurant is a charming boutique hotel popular with couples and families on relaxing seaside getaways. There are many pleasant outdoor spaces from which to enjoy the stunning sea views: the guest room balconies, the restaurant’s eco-chic glass-walled dining area, or the large sandy-colored stone patio dotted with colorful flowerpots and simple wood and black-iron furniture. The exterior of the stacked-stone and concrete building is uninspiring and box-like, while the interiors are decorated in a simple but elegant style -- although, bright orange walls and black leather seating do make for a vibrant entrance in the reception area. But guests will most likely spend their time outdoors in the stunning natural surroundings, though it's worth noting that the hotel is on the edge of a cliff and guests with mobility issues may find its many steps a challenge.
Location
A stunning natural location overlooking a bay
Located in the Cap Sa Sal area of the seaside town of Begur, Vintage Hotel & Lounge – Restaurant is at the end of a quiet road, just a 10-minute drive from the town. The hotel is in a stunning natural location surrounded by pine trees on the edge of a cliff overlooking a bay. Aiguafreda beach is a five-minute walk away. There are many scenic walking trails from here and small neighboring towns to explore on the way, like Sa Tuna and Punta des Plon, both about a 25-minute walk. In nearby Begur, a 10-minute drive, there are many shops, restaurants, and bars. It’s a one-hour drive to Girona-Costa Brava Airport from here and around two hours to Barcelona Airport.
Rooms
Comfortable, sunny rooms with stunning sea views
The rooms at Vintage Hotel & Lounge – Restaurant are elegant and understated, with white walls and contrasting hardwood floors and a few pieces of wooden furniture, like nightstands and a desk in each room. Eclectic textiles such as forest-green rugs and multicolor-striped bedskirts and chairs lend casual charm to the rooms, all of which are sea-facing. The double rooms are not very spacious and bathrooms are compact, with basin sinks and walk-in showers with pebble floors, though these are looking a little worn. The large balconies, available in most rooms, have magnificent sea views. The family rooms are more spacious, each with a living area with a small sofa and table and chairs, and a small adjacent room with bunk beds. All rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and hairdryers and luxury toiletries by L’Occitane in the bathrooms.
Features
Pool access, free breakfast, and on-site restaurant and bar
Guests staying at Vintage Hotel & Lounge – Restaurant have privileged access to the salt-water pool located in a residential complex just next door to the hotel. The free continental breakfast is generous, while meals at the popular on-site restaurant -- including Mediterranean tapas and seafood -- are expensive but perhaps worth the experience of dining on the large patio overlooking the sea. Room service is available and parking is free for guests. Pets are welcome too.
