Barcelo Bilbao Nervion is a trendy, modern property that attracts locals and visitors alike. The stylish lobby feels open and spacious thanks to glossy floors and a white backdrop broken up by colorful accents, such as a huge mosaic art piece along a large wall that represents the Oma Forest. On the other hand, the restaurant has an upscale rustic theme with wooden floors, wooden tables with white chairs, and hanging industrial silver lights. Color is added via the table place mats which creates a more lighthearted atmosphere. Most guests are generally couples who enjoy a riverfront, central stay in a clean and sleek hotel. 

Barcelo Bilbao Nervion has a charming location on the Ria del Nervion o Balboa. The hotel is in a central area filled with restaurants and shops on surrounding streets. It’s also easily accessible to public transportation with a bus stop that’s a two-minute walk away, a tram stop that takes six minutes on foot, and a metro stop that’s only a nine-minute walk away. It's only a five-minute walk to the awe-inspiring Zubizuri Bridge. A 14-minute stroll along the river will take guests to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. It only takes 10 minutes on foot to reach Plaza Nueva. The Bilbao Airport is a 16-minute drive from the property. 

Decorated primarily in tones of white and cream, the rooms at Barcelo Bilbao Nervion go for a modern and fresh look with blond wood laminate floors, white beds, streamlined furniture, and no artwork on the walls. Though they’re decently spacious by European standards, some guests have complained about the size or layout -- especially in rooms with open-floor bathroom plans. Rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, kettles, safes, and free minibars. Though the hotel advertises air-conditioning and heating, it can’t be regulated in rooms, which might be a drawback for some. Some upper-level rooms include pullout couches and living rooms. The bathrooms, which are done in the same cream palette, are simple with rainfall showers. Hairdryers and Two Moons By Barcelo toiletries are provided. 

Barcelo Bilbao Nervion is home to the popular Ibaizabal Restaurant which serves Basque and international cuisine for lunch and dinner all week. The hotel’s bar and cafe is well appreciated by guests and locals too as it offers tapas, drinks, live entertainment, and well-loved “pintxos” (small snacks). A breakfast buffet of cold and hot items is offered daily for a pricey fee if it’s not included in the room rate. Room service is also available. Guests can stay active in the hotel’s modest gym which includes a handful of Technogym cardio and weight equipment. Business guests can take advantage of 10 meeting rooms and a business center. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, though parking incurs a hefty charge.
