Somewhat far from city center
The 30 rooms at this hotel, located slightly outside Barcelona's city center and near the large stadium known as Camp Nou, are part of a larger property consisting of three different hotels, all with a variation of the name Madanis. (Guests are encouraged to make sure they have the right venue before booking.) Madanis Hotel claims a four-star rating, but it's more of a mid-range property: Many visitors have commented on the cleanliness of the rooms, its comfortable beds, and the modernity of the fixtures, but some are disappointed by the lack of amenities beyond a small massage room and a meeting room. Still, the property gets favorable marks for its reliable, attentive service.
Scene
A popular tourist destination due to its proximity to stadium
The prices here are slightly lower than a hotel of similar quality closer to the center of Barcelona. For this reason, the hotel attracts budget tourists as well as those wishing to attend conferences or sports events at the nearby Camp Nou stadium. The venue itself is part of a three-hotel complex; its handsome glass-and-marble lobby contains a small lift and a bar with stools and tall tables. Rooms are stacked in a single, narrow, six-story tower overlooking a main street.
Location
Close to metro, with offers easy access to major tourist sights
Madanis Hotel is located a short walk away from the Collblanc metro station, in an area called Les Corts that is slightly west of the city center. Many of Barcelona’s main points of attraction, including Montjuic and Plaza Catalunya, are accessible via subway. The bus station -- which then links to more public transportation options and the airport -- is only two blocks away. Getting to the airport via public transportation takes a total of an hour. The hotel can also arrange for an airport transfer with advance notice. The property is situated two subway stops from a popular city beach as well.
Rooms
Updated rooms with modern bedding, small bathrooms, and plenty of outlets
Many guests have commented that, despite being on a main road, the Madanis' rooms are mostly quiet and the beds are comfortable. Modernized units mean dark wood laminate headboards and adequate outlets, while all rooms have AC. Still, the rooms here have a couple of quirks. First, in the otherwise attractive bathrooms (which run small), a glass half-door lining the shower does little to prevent water from running all over the space. Second, a number of guests have noted that the lighting is dim.
Features
A small massage room and meeting room, as well as a lobby bar/cafe with food service
The Madanis makes the most of what it has, fitting a tiny massage room and meeting room for 22 people within a limited amount of space. One of the first features visitors encounter in the lobby is the attractive bar/cafe, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the street and limited dining offered during evening hours. There’s also a small interior restaurant where breakfast is served for a fee. Bike rentals are available as well.
