The Expo Hotel Barcelona is a simple chain hotel near Sants station with 423 simple, dated rooms. The hotel has a large snack and drink area with a lounge and table seating, and there’s also a seasonal pool and burger restaurant on the roof with Barcelona city views. The facade of the building, as well as the common spaces, such as the lobby and restaurant, are modern, but rooms, with tube TVs and outdated thin bedspreads, are in need of an update. The well-liked Room Mate Emma is a quirky, futuristic mid-range hotel in a similar price range with more interesting guest rooms and a more convenient location.
Scene
Attracts mostly couples, but plenty of families and business travelers as well

Nearby, red and pink couches and chairs are spread out in a reading area that has plenty of space for guests looking for a quiet place to relax.

The airport is less than a 15-minute drive from the hotel, or less than an hour ride on public transportation.
Rooms
Narrow rooms with dated furnishings
The rooms at the Expo Hotel Barcelona are in need of an update. There is little decor, and the furniture is dated. Rooms have white walls, tile floors, tube TVs, and thin bedspreads in purple or green. Some of the rooms are narrow with wooden desks awkwardly obstructing the walkways. All rooms have small brick balconies, shower/tub combinations, and empty mini-fridges. Free Wi-Fi is available if booked directly through the hotel.
Features
Plenty of common space for dining or relaxing, and a rooftop pool (but no fitness center)
The hotel has a seasonal rooftop pool with city views and a casual rooftop restaurant serving burgers and cocktails. There’s a big breakfast buffet for a fee with a variety of foods, including cold cuts, pastries, scrambled eggs, and bacon. A modern bar serves drinks and snacks next to a spacious reading area with bright chairs and couches. Nine meeting rooms are available for business travelers, and covered parking is available for a fee. There is no fitness center.
