The 52-room, three-pearl Hotel Saint Raphael has magnificent sea views near Ischia's Maronti Beach. Classic rooms have traditional ceramic tile floors plus minibars and flat-screen TVs, while more expensive rooms have balconies with sea views. The star here is the hotel's delightful terrace overlooking the Mediterranean, which serves as a cocktail venue in the evening. There is an indoor and outdoor thermal pool as well as an extremely clinical spa and on-site restaurant. The style throughout the property is dated, though, and there are minor upkeep issues, like unclean grout in the pool and bathroom tiles. Garden & Villas Resort, on the Ischia's north side, offers far nicer rooms and grounds, with similar sea views, though rates will be a bit higher.
