The laid-back, luxury
vibe of the AETAS Bangkok draws mainly couples and business travelers, though families
are welcome here as well. Set back from the main road within a modern high-rise, the koi ponds and trees surrounding the hotel provide a peaceful atmosphere.
Inside, white marble plays against dark damask prints and gleaming floors in a
lobby that’s set with aqua armchairs, retro leather seating, and bright
Victorian-style pieces. Just off the main lobby is a cozy and relaxed lounge
with plush orange sofas and papasan-style chairs overlooking the small koi
pond. The hotel’s Moments restaurant is a stylish, if somewhat generic, upscale
buffet-style restaurant, while a quaint lobby bar and cafe offer places
for guests to relax with a coffee or drink.

Chidlom/Ploenchit is one
of central Bangkok’s ritziest areas, and the streets that branch off of manic
Ploenchit/Sukhumvit Road are lined with exclusive hotels, luxury apartment
buildings, high-end shopping malls, and trendy eateries. The Ploen Chit
Skytrain station is at the end of the road, an eight-minute walk from the
hotel, giving easy access to destinations like Chatuchak
Weekend Market (35 minutes) and the wild nightlife and trendy restaurants near
Silom Road (20 minutes). Sukhumvit Road, a 10-minute walk from the hotel, is one
of the city’s commercial hubs, and there is street food, nightlife, bars, and
international restaurants lining any of the sois (sidestreets) in the area,
including a lively night market. Trips to Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang
Airport can take up to 45 minutes by taxi depending on traffic, though
Suvarnabhumi can be reached by using the skytrain and Airport Rail Link in just
over an hour at a fraction of the cost. The hotel runs a free shuttle to the Ploen Chit Metro station for guests who don’t want to walk in the Bangkok heat. 

Like its sister property,
AETAS Lumpini, these rooms are modern and comfortable, with minimalist design elements and contemporary decor, though it can be slightly bland in some rooms. Superior Rooms start
at 377 square feet, while Executive Club Rooms are large,
topping out at 732 square feet. Room decor can vary, but
Superior and Deluxe Rooms share similarly elegant green carpets with distinct
Thai patterns, white walls, and light wood paneling. Twin or king beds are
comfortable, with duvets, tan-and-brown silk bed runners, and matching throw
pillows, while contemporary dark ochre armchairs provide additional seating
next to glass work desks with ergonomic chairs. Padded leather headboards add warmth
to the rooms, though the generic, abstract wall art lacks personality. Suites
are more stylish and sophisticated, with dark wood furniture and dark accent walls, lighter
carpets, and subtle damask motifs used in thoughtful ways, as well as separate sleeping areas and more seating. All rooms include mini-fridges with minibars,
flat-screen TVs, telephones, electronic safes, free bottled water, individually
controlled air-conditioning, and electric kettles with free coffee or tea. Bathrooms
are spotless, with white tile floors and walls, large white granite vanities,
separate bathtubs and walk-in rainfall showers, bathrobes, and
a complete line of toiletries. Bathrooms in suites are even more
attractive, and though design varies, mosaic-tiled showers and stand-alone
soaking tubs are lovely. Guests should keep in mind that a glass window separates
the bathroom from the main room in Superior and Deluxe Rooms, though there are
retractable blinds for privacy. 

This hotel emphasizes luxury wellness with several excellent features, such as a tranquil and secluded outdoor saltwater pool with two hot tubs. It’s
surrounded by trees and tropical plants, as well as a narrow terrace with
lounge chairs, and even though the pool bar is directly adjacent, the area
maintains a relaxed vibe. AETASPA is a high-end destination for massages and
beauty treatments, with hardwood accents and deep warm colors throughout, as
well as gold-leaf abstract art on the walls. The hotel’s fitness center has a
few cardio and cable-machine options and gets plenty of natural light.There is only one on-site
restaurant, Moments, which serves Asian and international dishes day and night
with buffet or a la carte options. The restaurant also serves an excellent
breakfast buffet with a wide array of hot and cold options, though it’s only

entitled to exclusive use of Club AETAS, a chic and cozy lounge that serves a
separate free breakfast, as well as free afternoon tea service and free evening
cocktails and snacks. Executive/Club bookings receive a host of other
benefits, like private butlers, limited free laundry service, and late
check-out when available.The hotel has two on-site
meeting and events rooms that can accommodate up to 300 people, as well as a
smaller boardroom for up to 30 guests. Audiovisual and catering services can
be arranged by the hotel and there is a computer station with high-speed Internet located just off the lobby. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. There is a 24-hour front desk as well as a dedicated concierge team that can arrange
