The Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong is a large 267-room hotel located right in the dead center of the city, right near Central World and Siam Paragon department stores and just steps from the skytrain. The various rooms and suites here are modern and chic, featuring contemporary Thai styles and large 42-inch flat-screen TVs, comfy desks and chairs, bathrobes and slippers, safes, and minibars; Wi-Fi isn't free. The hotel features a small fitness center, spa, and indoor swimming pool, but its main features are its great collection of restaurants and bars, which include Italian, Chinese, and international cuisine, and even an outdoor beer garden for when the weather is nice. Prices here are on par with some of the neighboring competition (and they're often high), but this hotel has a great location and lovely features.
Scene
Both corporate travelers and the young, urban, and hip frequent this hotel, as it features chic and stylish rooms and restaurants.
The Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong is a modern and chic high-end hotel right downtown, so naturally it gets plenty of young and stylish urban travelers. The hotel has plenty of meeting and conference space, not to mention its restaurants offer an array of international and ethnic cuisine, and all of them are popular spots. However, the most happening place at the hotel is actually out front, where The One Beer Garden takes up space on a checkerboard floor right out on the sidewalk. Plenty of office workers call in here for a beer when they get off, and then it gets a bit more colorful as the sun sets and the lights go on; a live band often plays. As the hotel is part of the well-known Marriott chain, it gets plenty of corporate clients, so you're just as likely to see suits here for attire as well as t-shirts and shorts given the Bangkok heat.
Location
Great location in the city center close to the Central World and Siam Paragon shopping meccas as well as plenty of restaurants and bars, and right next to the Skytrain for transport access to the entire city
The Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel is located right in the heart of Bangkok, one of the most convenient spots in terms of a stay. The hotel sits in the central shopping area close to hundreds of restaurants, bars, and shops. Central World Department Store and Siam Paragon Mall are both within walking distance, and the BTS Skytrain is just a short stroll away, which is perfect, because this area of the city gets very congested during rush hour, making taking taxis an ordeal. Sukhumvit Road, which the hotel is on, is always busy, trafficked, and noisy, but the hotel is set well back off the street, so noise is never a problem.
