Bottom Line

The 117-room Patra Boutique Hotel is a mid-range property situated in the bustling Pratunam district. It's surrounded by multiple dining options and tons of shopping, while shortcuts can get you to the metro, skytrain, and airport rail link within 10 to 15 minutes on foot. Rooms are cheerful, bright, and basic, featuring air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and kettles. A breakfast buffet is served daily for a fee on the rooftop terrace. That's it for on-site meal service, but there is a convenience store selling Thai foods and souvenirs. A computer desk and simple spa area round out the features. Scene

Colorful, cheerful hotel with warm, friendly vibe, suitable for all sorts of vacationers

Opened in 2016, this hotel still looks fresh and new, though it's more of a basic mid-range option than the style-conscious boutique property promised in the hotel's name. Still, it makes a clean and pleasant place to recharge in Bangkok's busy Pratunam area. The lobby is open and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows providing plenty of natural light. Cushioned wicker sofa and chair seating groups invite guests to take a seat and hang out, and upholstered benches provide additional seating. Colorful artwork throughout the hotel and in guest rooms was painted by the owner's sister, providing a unique touch. However, with few social areas, there really isn't anywhere to hang out, and the hotel is best used for on-the-go guests. This place is popular with all sorts of mostly leisure travelers, including couples, families, groups, and individuals.

Location

In Pratunam, amid endless street food outlets, less than a 10-minute walk to Pratunam Market

This hotel is situated in the bustling Pratunam shopping and wholesale district, surrounded by other hotels and seemingly limitless street food outlets and restaurants. Guests can walk to Pratunam Market in seven minutes and to the Platinum Fashion Mall in six minutes. The MBK Center shopping mall is a 25-minute walk, though in Bangkok's heat you're better off in a cab. Public transit is reasonably close at hand, though you'll need to use shortcuts that aren't always exactly scenic or luggage friendly. The Phaya Thai BTS skytrain station can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot. For connecting to the airport, the Ratchaprarop airport rail link (where you'll also find a metro station) is less a 10-minute walk from the hotel by following a path along the rail line. Plan on about 30 minutes to reach Suvarnabhumi Airport by public transportation, or over an hour by car. Don Mueang Airport is about a 30-minute drive, but the traffic in Bangkok means smart travelers should give themselves 45 minutes to an hour.

Rooms

Bright, cheerful rooms with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and kettles for tea and coffee

Rooms are bright and cheerful, with lime green accent walls and bed runners livened up by colorful murals painted by the owner's sister. Medium-toned wood accents and furniture add a bit of warmth to the otherwise mostly white rooms. Amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, kettles for tea and coffee, and free Wi-Fi. Deluxe Rooms are slightly larger and add minibars. Triple Rooms sleep three guests in twin beds. Bathrooms are small, but showers have decorative tiling and rainfall showerheads. Toiletries and hairdryers are supplied. Views of neighboring buildings are less than desirable.

Features

Breakfast buffet on rooftop, room service, spa, convenience store, free Wi-Fi

This little hotel doesn't offer much in the way of features, although it does have a spa. A breakfast buffet with a limited selection of hot and cold items is served daily on the rooftop terrace for a fee. It's a lovely space with wooden tables and chairs plus nice views over the city. Room service is available. The basic spa offers massages and pedicures. There are two computers in the lobby, and a convenience store sells Thai food items and souvenirs. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
