The Citin Pratunam Hotel is a standard modern tower in a busy neighborhood; the lobby is a calm, but basic, respite from the buzz outdoors. The lobby looks more like a hostel than a hotel, but it's clean and has a fresh lime-green color scheme. It has a tourist information center where guests can book sightseeing tours and organize airport transfers. There's not much in the way of public space -- most guests take to the streets to explore the nearby cafes and sample the street food. The basic nature of the hotel is reinforced by its very simple and minimalist restaurant, which is just a room with green tables and chairs in it, and very little else. The spa area is slightly livelier, with traditional massage beds and a sauna. As a budget option, the hotel attracts a casual crowd that wants to be near the shopping. Sightseeing requires a longer trip; the iconic Grand Palace is about 30 minutes away on the bus. Wat Arun, locally known as Wat Chaeng, is situated on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River and is a 30-minute taxi or tuk tuk ride away. The hotel provides a free tuk tuk service to and from the closest metro and skytrain stations from morning to evening.
