Contemporary hotel with a mix of busy business travelers and weekend tourists

This hotel on the edge of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor has stayed busy since opening in 2014, hosting many business travelers during the week and mostly tourists on weekends. A wall of windows give the spacious lobby a bright and inviting ambiance. It’s decorated with modern furniture and attractive touches, like backlit screen panels and striking chandeliers in distinctive shapes. Clusters of seating areas include a bar and high-top communal table, where guests sit behind laptops or stop for drinks and snacks. 

Location

Close to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment, but a far walk to Inner Harbor 

The Hyatt Place is located on the corner of Central Avenue and Fleet Street, about a 16-minute drive east from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The property is situated on a wide and busy intersection, with several restaurants nearby, including a few in the same building as the hotel. A Whole Foods and CVS Pharmacy are directly across the street, and a theater, public transit stops, and more shopping are a brief walk away in this safe neighborhood.- Four-minute walk to Little Italy

Matching light-wood furniture includes armoires, headboards, and desks with black leather office chairs. Standard and High-Floor units come in King and Double Queen options, and they have screen-printed partial walls that separate beds from seating areas, which have gray upholstered sleeper sofas. All units contain 42-inch flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, one-cup coffeemakers with free coffee, and free Wi-Fi, but there are no microwaves or safes. Bathrooms are modern and streamline, with square sinks, shower/tub combos (Double Queens) or glass walk-in showers (Kings), and all have KenetMD toiletries and hairdryers. Some Specialty Kings have floor-to-ceiling windows with city skyline or harbor views, but many rooms simply overlook surrounding buildings.
