The 25-room Viceroy Bali is a luxury hotel that draws high-end clientele with its tropical setting overlooking Petanu Valley and its convenient helipad. The property also offers airport limousine service, an open-air restaurant, and a lovely pool with a swim-up bar. A hillside spa and modern gym complete the list of excellent amenities. The spacious Balinese villas have private pools, flat-screen TVs, safes, and indoor/outdoor sitting areas; some have thatched-roof gazebos. There’s golf cart transportation on-site, but the grounds are often sloped so getting around can be tricky. Another luxurious option is the Chedi Club Tanah Gajah. Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking are all free at the Viceroy (but expect sky-high rates).

Exclusive, five-pearl property in Bali with a helipad, infinity pool, and spa
The Viceroy Bali delivers a five-pearl experience in a tranquil, rural setting that’s a 10-minute drive to lively Ubud city. Owned and run by an Australian family, the secluded atmosphere attracts couples and honeymooners, but also high-end travelers who want to vacation anonymously and take advantage of the resort’s private helipad. The property -- built by architect Ketut Mahardika and designed by Margaret Bainbridge -- showcases the lush backdrop of Petanu River Valley and distant Mount Batur volcano views. Palm trees frame the thatched-roof entrance that leads into a spacious open-air lobby, with an intimate front desk manned by traditionally dressed staff. Overall the atmosphere is serene, upscale, and romantic.

The Campuhan Ridge Walk takes 15 minutes by car. It’s an hour and 15 minutes to the Ngurah Rai International Airport.
