The three-pearl Rambutan Boutique Hotel is a family-run property situated in the quiet area of Lovina. It's located within a few minutes' walk from the beach, and close to a handful of restaurants. Both guest rooms and three larger villas are available; all come with a minibar, free Wi-Fi, and terrace -- villas include kitchenettes. The two outdoor swimming pools are surrounded by beautiful gardens with large trees. A selection of breakfast choices is included in room rates and the restaurant and bar includes both local and western cuisine. A variety of beauty treatments are available at the spa and health center. Rates are incredibly low and the only real downsides are a dated overall look and lack of air-conditioning in the cheapest rooms. The nearby Lovina has more modern guest rooms and a beachfront location, but it costs more.
Scene
Family-run hotel with welcoming and casual atmosphere
Rambutan Boutique Hotel is set in a tropical paradise, surrounded by trees and nature. What started off as a simple family-run backpackers' hotel in 1989 has grown into a full-on boutique hotel with both guest rooms and larger villas. Decorated in a traditional Balinese theme, the hotel features local handcrafted decor throughout, made by local artists. Expect to see handcrafted stone and wooden features in the furniture. The restaurant and bar area is located outside and has a super casual atmosphere. There are two large swimming pools and a handful of surrounding sun lounges and parasols. The spa and health center are a bit cluttered, with not enough open space to create a truly relaxing atmosphere. Children are catered to with the two playgrounds and a tree house. The quiet location in Lovina attracts couples, solo travelers, and families with young children.

Rooms
Traditional Balinese-style rooms and villas with handcrafted decor
The rooms and villas at Rambutan Boutique Hotel feature traditional Balinese decor and design, and bedding that doesn't quite match the overall look. Decor includes handcrafted pieces by local craftsmen, including wood crafted doors, window frames, furniture, and mirror frames. Each room and villa has an individual facade, ranging from simple bricks to traditional stone-crafted walls. Room variants include Standard, Deluxe, Superior, and Family Suite. There are three luxury villas, including two Family Villas and one Honeymoon Villa. All come with tea- and coffee-making facilities, minibar, free Wi-Fi, and terrace with garden or pool views. Not all rooms include flat-screen TVs; some have old tube-style TVs and the Standard Rooms aren't air-conditioned. The villas include larger lounge areas and kitchenettes. En-suite bathrooms feature stone walls with either a stone hot tub or open walk-in shower. Toiletries are provided. The bigger villas include both indoor and outdoor bathrooms.
