Plataran Canggu Resort is an intimate all-villa hotel featuring stunning grounds. The landscaping and gardens were designed by the renowned landscaping artist, Made Wijaya, in his classic tropical Balinese style. There are plenty of common areas for guests to relax in, both indoors and outdoors amongst the beautiful green surroundings. The scenic grounds are lined with tall trees, manicured gardens, stone shrines and statues, and flowing koi ponds. There's also a river that runs through the property and two rustic bridges made of wood and bamboo that link the two sides. The two communal swimming pools both feature gorgeous tropical settings, with vine covered pergolas, flowering bougainvillea, and plenty of seating laid out. The lobby lounge is housed in a traditional Javanese teak house. It's easy to see why the hotel is so popular with couples, as the villas are secluded and highly private, plus the atmosphere throughout is tranquil and romantic. The two-bedroom villas are also a good option for families or groups of friends.

Plataran Canggu Resort is around a 15-minute drive from downtown Canggu, and a 25-minute drive from the nearest beaches and Seminyak. Canggu is a laid-back tourist hub featuring scenic rice terraces, great surf beaches, and hip restaurants and bars. Canggu's black-sand beaches, like Batu Bolong, Berawa, and Echo feature great surf spots and are all within a 30-minute drive from the hotel. Seminyak's Eat Street, or Kayu Aya Street, is around 25 minutes away by car. This bustling tourist locale is lined with restaurants, bars, and boutique shops. Petitenget also features some excellent fine dining restaurants and trendy beach clubs, and is around a 25-minute drive from the hotel. Establishments in Petitenget include Sarong, Biku, Metis, Potato Head beach club, and W Bali. Kuta Beach and the airport take around 50 minutes to reach by car, though driving times can take much longer depending on traffic.

This hotel features one- and two-bedroom pool villas, as well as more affordably priced one-bedroom garden villas without plunge pools. Villa compounds are secluded and highly private, with tall walls and tropical gardens surrounding them. The plunge pools are a decent size, have lounge chairs laid out, and are lined with flowering frangipani trees and dense greenery. Villas have thatched roofs, an open-plan design, and clean modern interiors that are bright and airy. Interiors feature gorgeous carved wooden doors, solid teak furniture, and colorful pastel cement floor tiles. White walls are contrasted by details like the hand stenciled trim, bright woven ikat bed runners and throw pillows, colorful ceramic lamps, and traditional Balinese paintings. All villas have wooden canopy beds with comfy mattresses, work desks and chairs, sofas, balcony seating, and roomy wardrobes. Standard room amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, sound systems, mini-fridges, safes, and kettles.

Spacious en-suite bathrooms are elegantly styled and feature marble tiles, roomy vanities with large mirrors, rainfall showers, and deep terrazzo bathtubs. Toiletries are provided.

The sprawling property has plenty of space for lots of great features. There are two communal swimming pools: a small pool that adjoins the restaurant and a large lap pool closer to the lobby area. Both pools are surrounded by tropical greenery and have plenty of seating. Patio Restaurant is housed in a spacious, semi-open-air, thatched roof building that overlooks the pool and garden. The menu has some Western favorites, though it mainly consists of Indonesian and Balinese specialities. An a la carte breakfast is included in most room packages and can be served directly to villas or in the restaurant. Padma Spa offers a variety of beauty and massage treatments, and has private single and couples' treatment rooms, with showers and stone bathtubs. The lobby is open 24/7 and there is a separate lobby lounge area, which is decorated with Indonesian antiques and has huge comfy couches on which to relax. There's also a traditional Balinese kitchen with wood-fire stoves used for cooking classes. A free shuttle service operates into downtown Seminyak, Kuta, and Echo Beach. Wi-Fi is free throughout. The hotel is popular with small wedding parties, and the stunning grounds offer a beautiful backdrop for photos. Most weddings are held outdoors at the Aurora Deck, which is a large wooden deck with an antique Javanese Gazebo structure, under which the vows are performed.
