Scene
Luxury beachside resort with traditional interiors and lush grounds
The Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa opened in 1983, which makes it one of the oldest resorts in the area. However, the hotel is still is great shape, with lovely tropical grounds, charming traditional Balinese interiors, and all the amenities and services expected of a luxury resort. The hotel is easily identifiable among the many hotels located in the area thanks to the striking original temple located right at the entrance. An intricately decorated stone gate (or "candi bentar," as these beautiful split doors are known in Bali) opens onto beautifully manicured tropical grounds with two lotus ponds, each with a small "bale" or pavilion. A stone path flanked by colorful flowers and tropical plants then leads to the lobby, housed in a striking open pavilion with two towers topped with traditional double pitched roofs. Inside, lovely wooden Balinese couches, richly adorned stone and wood carvings, and wooden ceilings lend the space a strong local character.
Grounds are lush and sprawling, with koi ponds, grass lawns, wild tropical areas full of flowers and bushes, and a couple of thatched pavilions. Rooms and suites are housed in long four-story buildings with dark pitched roofs and colorful flowers lining wooden balconies.

On Nusa Dua Beach, a short drive from Bali Collection mall
The hotel is located right on a sandy beach lined with other luxury resorts. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance, but many more options can be found at Bali Collection, a large mall located a five-minute drive away to which the hotel offers free shuttle service several times a day. It’s a five-minute walk to Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, a 10-minute drive to the Water Blow, and famous Uluwatu Temple can be reached by car in about 45 minutes. Kuta and the airport are a 20-minute drive away.
