The luxury Kanishka offers 27 upscale villas, each with one or two bedrooms and a private pool or whirlpool hot tub. Units feel more like private houses, so a stay here differs from the typical hotel experience, and while there is much more privacy, there are also fewer facilities available at the property. However, there are plenty of in-villa activities on offer, including the chance to learn Balinese cookery from a pro. Quiet and attractive property ideal for couples and families alike
The Kanishka's small lobby is set back from a quiet road and has comfortable seating, stands of tourist leaflets, and a small white reception desk. A free welcome drink and a 10-minute massage are offered on arrival. Moving through to the villas takes visitors down paved walkways with carved stone statues set into the walls and bamboo and tropical plants at every turn. The property attracts a range of couples and families, but guests rarely interact due to the privacy afforded by the individual villas.
Location
Central location on a quiet lane, but removed from the beach
The Kanishka is set on a quiet, secluded lane just off one on Seminyak's busiest streets, where there are lots of shops, restaurants, and bars. Some of Seminyak's most popular attractions are within a few minute's walk of the property, including Bali Deli and Made’s Warung restaurant. The beach is around a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and Ngurah Rai International Airport is a 15-minute drive.

The 27 air-conditioned villas are spacious and modern, with large living and dining areas and full kitchens with microwaves, coffeemakers, fridges, and kettles. All units are decorated in warm colors and have modern dark-wood furnishings, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels and DVD players, stereos, and safes. Each has an outdoor space with lounge chairs, tropical plants, and either a pool or a hot tub. Bathrooms have natural stone walls, rainfall showers, and separate tubs.

Kanishka has limited common amenities but offers lots of services for in-villa entertainment. There's no fitness center here, but guests can use a nearby gym at a 50% discount. A personal trainer can be booked for on-site sessions, too. While there's no spa, in-room treatments can be booked. Room service is available and candlelit dinners can be served next to the villas' pools or hot tubs. Other activities include Balinese cookery class from the hotel's chef and the chance to dress in traditional Balinese costume and have souvenir photos taken. The hotel staff can also book activities such elephant safaris and volcano tours. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
