Ini Vie Villa

There's not much in terms of common spaces and facilities at the Ini Vie Villa beyond a small, yet inviting, lobby. The simple, box-like space is flanked by greenery and filled with natural light thanks to large windows that overlook a little patio area with seating in front of the entrance. Inside, exposed stone walls give the space a rustic feel that's contrasted by clean-lined contemporary furnishings and bright hues. The large light-wood front desk is topped with beautiful potted orchids, while pale lime green seating offers a place to relax. Clientele here is mainly made up of couples, though the hotel is also suited for families and groups of friends. It's a solid choice for travelers seeking villa accommodation, but there are plenty of similar options in the area -- including several of the hotel's sister properties -- so guests might want to shop around for the best rates. 

Though a bit removed from the main touristy areas, the hotel is near plenty of shopping and dining options that line the busy Dewi Sri road nearby (five-minute walk away). The beach is around a 20-minute walk away, though the hotel also offers free shuttle service to the nearest beach and to Seminyak (about 10 minutes away). Popular beaches that are within a 10- to 15-minute drive include Double Six Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Kuta Beach. Other points of interest in the area include Seminyak Square, Bali Blast Monument, Waterbom Bali water park, and the Discovery Shopping Mall, all of which are a 10- to 15-minute drive away. Ngurah Rai International Airport is a 15- to 25-minute drive from the hotel.

The hotel offers 10 one- and two-bedroom villas. The bright and airy spaces are full of natural light and feature an inviting contemporary style awash in blond wood and cheery pops of pale green accents in the pillows and runners atop white bedding. All villas have lovely outdoor spaces with attractive private pools and whirlpool tubs, as well as hammocks or hanging chairs. Though the outdoor areas are small, with no space beyond the pools, they're tastefully executed with atmospheric stone walls and greenery. Spacious living rooms (some of which are partially outdoor and directly overlook the pools) include dining areas and kitchenettes equipped with stoves, sinks, electric kettles, microwaves, minibars, and dishware. Other standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, DVD players, iPod docks, electronic safes, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and free bottled water that's restocked daily. Enormous floating flamingos are supplied in the pools. Attractive bathrooms have modern fixtures and are equipped with walk-in rainfall showers. Note that some villas are duplexes, which can be a problem for those with mobility issues. Villa Lima was renovated after our visit, switching the bedroom and living areas.

The property lacks most facilities and features found in typical hotels. It does, however, offer a number of perks, including freebies like daily a la carte breakfasts (with items like banana pancakes and fruit) delivered to villas, welcome drinks, flower petals and towel decorations on beds upon arrival, and afternoon tea (included in some bookings, and dependent on length of stay). There's also a free scheduled shuttle service to the nearest beach and to Seminyak. Room service is also available, and guests can request a "floating breakfast" that's served in the pool. Other services offered include babysitting, airport transfers, laundry, and free bikes to borrow.
