Scene
Stylish, modern property with greenery-filled grounds and romantic atmosphere
Opened in 2017, Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach is a stunning luxury property that draws mostly couples with its chic design, plethora of features, and setting just across the road from the beach. Interiors contain decorative wood, shelves displaying various curios, colorful mismatched wicker furniture, and a lobby floor resembling a puzzle formed by different interlocking sections of wood, concrete tiles, cutout decorative carpets. Ceilings covered with geometric wooden lattices, cage-like brass light fixtures, painted patterned tiling, and tons of hanging planters continue the stylish look. Outdoors, lush grounds house three pools -- including an adults-only option with cabanas built into stone -- colorful bean bags and lanterns, and modern wicker seating. There's no kids' club here, making this a better option for couples or groups of adults.
Location
Across the street from Seminyak's popular Double Six Beach
Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach is located on the beach side of Seminyak, one of Bali's most touristy areas. Though the hotel is sold as beachfront, guests will actually have to cross a main street to reach the beach. Officially called Mesari Beach, this beach is commonly referred to as Double Six Beach due to its location right off of Double Six Street. This beachfront street is home to a majority of the area's restaurants, while a 15-minute walk away from the beach is the shopping-heavy Seminyak Street. The shops and restaurants of Seminyak Square is a free 15-minute shuttle ride away. Otherwise, the area is filled with several hotels and a cafe here and there. It's about an hour-and-15-minute drive to Ubud, 25 minutes to Kuta, and 30 minutes to Denpasar's Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Beach
Wide stretch of sand with a small beach club for guests
Both the beach and the hotel beach bar are located across Double Six Street at the back of the hotel. Guests must cross this road to reach the beach. Double Six (Merasi) Beach is a wide stretch of soft sand , and hotel guests have access to a small beach club with a wooden deck area lined by cushioned sunbeds. A few basic water sports are available via a vendor nearby. The beach is a popular spot, particularly when the sunset paint the sky.
Rooms
Stylish rooms with minibars and outdoor spaces; upgrades add private pools, butlers, and kitchens
The hotel is comprised of 289 rooms, suites, and villas, all of which are contemporary and stylish. Decor varies, but expect wood flooring and furniture -- some with lovely cutout detailing, pops of color -- think yellow, orange, or pink -- in bedding, tea pots and cups, and bedside tables, and fun patterns in rugs, chair cushions, and accent pieces. A highlight with all room is the furnished balcony or patio, though note that no rooms have ocean views. Also standard are sitting areas, minibars, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, comfortable beds, minibars, desks, espresso machines, and closets with safes, bathrobes, and ironing facilities. Sleek marble bathrooms have walk-in mosaic-tiled showers, hairdryers, and quality bulk toiletries.
Suites add separate soaking tubs and a living room area. More private villas are the cream of the crop, as these bungalow-style units have a garden space with a pool and big daybed, freestanding tub in the bathroom, and butler service.
Features
Multiple pool and restaurant options, a holistic spa, and 24-hour gym
Ample features here are geared toward adults, starting with the three outdoor pools and separate deck area for sunbathing. Both the Main Pool and Cave Pool are in the same space, surrounded by green landscaping and palm trees, and outfitted with stylish Balinese greenstone tiles. The Main Pool has an elegant feel thank to its infinity edge, as well as a built-in hot tub. There are only a handful of sun loungers here, and they go quickly. The Cave Pool is set just behind here and feels slightly more secluded because of its smaller size and landscaping. As mentioned, there aren't many poolside loungers, and most of the hotel's sun-worshippers can be found lounging on a beanbag or cushioned lounger on a grassy pool deck. The adults-only Secret Garden Pool is a favorite among couples for its lush landscaping, cabanas, and daybeds. All three pools are serviced by the Cave Pool Lounge.
In addition to the pool bar, there are two more bars and three restaurants on-site. For a taste of local flavor, the all-day Makase serves up family-style portions of Balinese dishes, while Pottery Cafe is the spot for easy bites like sandwiches. Salon Bali offers a slightly elevated dinner experience, plus a selection of craft cocktails. Guests will also find cocktails at Tree Bar (where a bar is literally constructed around a tree), plus options for smoothies, salads, and elixirs to help round out the menu. A health-focused snack, dessert, and drink bar is by the pool and a beach bar serves up drinks alongside music.
A variety of treatments with organic products are available at the Sava Spa, where services have an overall holistic approach. Treatment rooms are modern, simple, and have natural light. A 24-hour gym is well-equipped with TRX resistance equipment, cardio machines, and free weights. This is not a particularly kid-friendly hotel, as there's no kids' club here.
Three meeting rooms and event spaces are styled to the nines and can host between eight to 120 people, depending on the room and configuration. All rooms have high-speed Wi-Fi, DVD players, flip charts, and projector screens.
Other features include a relaxation lounge area with a library branded as Hotel Indigo Me Space, dry cleaning service, and concierge. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to Seminyak Square, as well as free parking and property-wide Wi-Fi. This is not a pet-friendly hotel, though service dogs are allowed.
