Bali Yarra Villas

Bali Yarravillas is an ultra modern boutique hotel that doesn’t have much atmosphere, since the only public space is the pool. All rooms overlook the central lap pool, which is surrounded by a wooden deck, tropical greenery, and some tall palm trees. Plenty of bright orange lounge chairs are laid out around the pool and there is also an adjoining gazebo with chic couches and chairs. The pool area offers a nice tranquil space to relax, and tends to be quiet most of the time, as most guests (usually couples and groups of friends) are out most of the day at the nearby beaches or exploring Seminyak.

Bali Yarravillas is located along a quiet lane that's less than a five-minute walk from downtown Seminyak. There is a decent selection of shops, restaurants, and bars just a short walk from the hotel. Some popular dining and shopping options nearby include Ryoshi Restaurant, Grain Bali, and Bintang Supermarket -- all within five minutes from the hotel. Double Six Beach (15 minutes on foot) is a long white-sand beach great for surfing, swimming, or just lounging. The surf is well suited for novice surfers, as the waves break over a soft sand bottom. There are some popular beachfront dining and nightlife options along Double Six, including the trendy Cocoon Beach Club and the relaxed boho chic scene at La Plancha Beach Bar. Eat Street (or Laksmana Street) is around 20 minutes drive from the hotel. This area features an extensive selection of great eateries, bars, and boutique shops. Waterbom Bali, Kuta Beach, and Legian Street (where Bali's wildest and largest nightclubs are located) all take around 25 minutes to reach by car from the hotel. Guests should also budget at least 30 minutes to get to the airport, though it can take longer depending on traffic.

This boutique hotel features contemporary units in the form of One- and Two-Bedroom Apartments, as well as more affordably priced hotel-style rooms. The apartments are great for families or those who need the extra space. The hotel-style rooms, on the other hand are fairly compact. The smallest room is just a modest 194 square feet (18 square meters).  Interiors are intentionally minimalist and ultra modern, with marble tiled floors and sparsely decorated white walls. The furniture is modern and simple. All rooms feature comfy beds, roomy wardrobes, and balcony seating and tables. Apartments also have comfy leather sofas. Bedrooms are fairly plain and stark, though the bright red and black bed runners and throw pillows do add some nice pops of color to the spaces. Standard room amenities include air-conditioning, ceiling fans, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, mini-fridges, coffee- and tea-making facilities, safes, and mineral water. Apartments feature roomy lounge areas with TVs and sound systems, plus well equipped kitchens outfitted with stovetop burners, microwaves, and toasters. Bathrooms in the hotel-style rooms are also quite compact, though are modern and spotless. The bathrooms in the apartments are a lot more spacious and feature deep soaking tubs and semi open-air showers surrounded by tropical greenery. Toiletries and hairdryers are provided in all units. Most rooms have balconies or terraces, and all have large glass doors and windows that let in plenty of natural light and airflow.

The only facility on offer at this hotel is a central 45 foot (14 meter) long lap pool. Other common hotel facilities, like a restaurant, spa, or breakfast aren’t featured here. Guests will have to get all meals outside of the hotel or cook in their apartments. Although, there are plenty of dining options just a short walk away, so this won’t be too big of a problem for most independent travelers. There is plenty of room to sprawl out around the lap pool, which is lined with a large wooden deck and has lounge chairs and a covered  gazebo area with couches. On-site parking is available, though limited. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
