Rosarito Inn

Rosarito Inn is a large hotel with three towers facing the ocean on the beachfront of Rosarito. Upon arrival, guests might get confused by a sign on the hotel that reads, “Oceana Condominiums.” Don’t worry -- this is Rosarito Inn. Travelers enter a gated area with a diligent security officer. Guests won’t want to dally too long in the reception office as it’s more functional than attractive with two desks, a few armchairs for sitting, and a small brochure stand. The grounds are quite lovely and well-kept. The pool sits on a nice deck, is surrounded by lounge chairs, and offers great views of the ocean around sunset. The upper-floor hallways are open, which makes this hotel feel more like an apartment building than a hotel. Most travelers are families, couples, or friends attracted by the self-service units, decent price, and location on the beach. However, with these traveler types can come some party or family noise so keep that in mind.

With a beachfront location, this spot is perfect for travelers who don’t want to go far for some ocean time. The neighborhood is filled with restaurants, bars, and nightclubs which often stay open early in the morning hours (hence the bothersome noise). Casino Rosarito Renes is a 15-minute drive away, while Pabellon Rosarito – an 11-minute drive – offers shopping and movies. For day trips, the marine geyser of La Bufadora is a two-hour drive away. Tijuana takes 32 minutes by car to reach. The Tijuana International Airport is a 37-minute drive from the hotel.

Rosarito Inn offers condos with up to four rooms that can accommodate a maximum of 10 people. The condos vary in decor and style -- some have a more traditional Mexican style, while others are contemporary and updated with newer couches, cabinetry, and wooden furniture. Some of the units are also more dated or tired than others with visible wear and tear and some grime in the corners. Thankfully guests can choose which specific unit they want online. Each condo comes with convenient amenities like air-conditioning, heating, free Wi-Fi, TVs (not all are flat-screen TVs; some rooms includes tube-style TVs), washers and dryers, and kitchens. The kitchens are equipped with refrigerators, microwaves, stovetops, ovens, dishwashers, and coffeemakers. Some rooms have ocean-view balconies or terraces, while others have fireplaces. Bathroom designs vary, but all are equipped with toiletries, showers, or separate showers and tubs, and hairdryers. Take note that many guests report bothersome noise from nearby clubs and bars early into the morning. 

There’s a solid base of amenities at Rosarito Inn. For one, the hotel has direct access to the beach and ocean, as well as an outdoor pool with hot tubs and a children’s pool section with ocean views. The hotel also has a pretty well-equipped gym with plenty of cardio and weight equipment. A Clubhouse provides a place to hang out with tables and chairs, a bar area, pool table, and outdoor grills. There’s a Mexican restaurant and bar on-site to cater to dining needs, though breakfast isn’t provided to guests. Most don’t seem to mind as they have kitchens in their condos to prepare their own morning meal. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout and there is a business center with a library of books and workspace, though no computers. On-site parking is included in the room rate.
