Mambukal Hot Spring Resort is a government-operated budget hotel that belongs to the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental and is set about a 45-minute drive from Bacolod City. Situated on lush, sprawling grounds at the foot of Mount Kanlaon, the lovely jungle setting includes hot springs, streams, and seven waterfalls. The main attraction here are the hot springs, which have been drawing visitors ever since the resort’s Ishiwata Bath House opened in 1927. There are also two swimming pools and a handful of activities like a zipline and climbing wall. Other features include a simple food court and even a butterfly sanctuary. Mambukal Resort villas and cottages are basic and don’t offer much in terms of amenities; they’re rustic, tired, and due for some renovations – as is the entire property.
