Hotel L’Archipel

This small, upscale hotel lacks the features of larger resorts in the Seychelles -- there is no spa, no fitness center, and no kids' club. But for many guests, its intimate feel is a big draw. The beach isn't as spectacular a stretch as guests might imagine when they think of the Seychelles, but it is secluded and feels private, and never gets non-guests due to its position. The vibe is quiet and low-key. The views, perhaps, are the main reason to stay; as the hotel is nestled into the hills, surrounded by lush gardens and palm trees, many units get terrific views of the sea. But the location also
means guests have to maneuver steps, inclines, and the terraced landscape, which may pose an issue for some.

Guests are greeted in a small, open-air lobby that’s simply
furnished with wooden reception desks and and a wooden ceiling. Other common areas, such as the restaurants
and bar, feature a similar style, and feel light and airy. The property
attracts mostly couples.

The hotel occupies a beautiful hillside location on Praslin
Island. The resort is on a stretch of private-feeling beach and is fairly secluded, with lush
greenery and hills surrounding. It's a 20-minute walk to Anse Volbert village (or a three-minute drive), where guests can find a few restaurants and a supermarket. There's also a larger beach there (Cote D’Or) that some guests prefer, though it's not as quiet as the one on the premises. In addition, Praslin National Park is under a 10-minute
drive.

Praslin Island is about 25 miles northeast of Mahé island; Praslin Island Airport is
about a 20-minute drive, while the Praslin Marina is a seven-minute drive.
The island can be accessed by a daily ferry or flights from Mahé island, as well as via helicopter.

The hotel offers a couple of different types of spacious
rooms (starting at 60 square meters, or 645 square feet) and suites with pleasant, contemporary decor. Wooden furniture is paired
with cream-colored walls and tile floors, and beds with white duvets have matching accent pillows and runners. Large windows fill the spaces up with natural light and
are shrouded in gauzy beige curtains. Many rooms have private balconies or
terraces; all rooms have at least some view of the sea, and most have great views. Bathrooms are
large with ample granite-topped vanities and bathtubs or walk-in showers
(suites and Deluxe Rooms have both). Suites add sitting areas with comfortable
rattan seating as well as walk-in wardrobes. Family Suites are the only room type that can fit four guests, and are the largest. All rooms have flat-screen TVs with satellite channels,
minibars, safes, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and air-conditioning, but Wi-Fi incurs an added fee.

The hotel has two restaurants that serve international and
Creole cuisine and offer weekly themed nights, barbecues, and seafood
cooking on the beach. There’s also a cocktail lounge with live evening
entertainment several times a week, plus a beach bar. Breakfast is included in
some rates, and half-board rates are also available.

The hotel has a water sports center that provides free
canoes, snorkeling gear, and paddleboards, as well as operating two boats used for excursions,
fishing trips, and cruises. Besides the lovely, white-sand beach,
guests can also relax around the outdoor pool, which features a wooden sundeck
and umbrella-shaded padded loungers. Other amenities include a small shop in
the lobby that sells clothing, beach gear, and souvenirs. There’s also a game
room, but it is lackluster and consists of just a pool table. Wi-Fi is free in
some common areas, but incurs a fee for in-room use.
