Bottom Line
This grand, French Baroque-inspired resort is one of Atlanta's premier options, located in the affluent Buckhead neighborhood. Luxury reaches an impressive level, with glimmering chandeliers, a marble terrace, and fine furnishings throughout. The lobby and lounge areas are pure glamour and the 151 rooms are equally regal. Expect big, comfortable beds, marble bathrooms with soaking tubs, and a luxurious outdoor pool piazza. It's pricier than other options, but it's not hard to see why.

Location
In affluent Buckhead, close to great shopping and restaurants
The St. Regis Atlanta has a somewhat remote location in Buckhead -- it's barely within walking distance of the Buckhead MARTA transit stop. The hotel does offer free transportation in a luxury vehicle with driver, within a two-mile radius.
Located about 15 minutes from downtown, Buckhead is an affluent area in uptown Atlanta with tree-lined streets, beautiful mansions, high-rise office buildings, and luxury hotels. It's Atlanta's third largest financial district, and draws tourists and locals with its upscale shops, restaurants, and bars. However, the lively nightlife scene here has died down a bit after an ordinance was passed requiring all bars to close by 2:30 a.m. The area is home to the Atlanta History Center, a 32-acre space with gardens, trails, a historic farm and mansion, and a museum.
