Scene

Rich in opulent details, from fresco ceilings to marble floors

From the gold lettering and five stars crowning the hotel’s entrance to the five-tiered chandelier hanging from the lobby ceiling, Electra Palace specializes in opulent details. The lobby is grand with gold-detailed chaise lounge chairs, marble flooring, and a fresco ceiling. The outdoor areas are impressive as well: The rooftop pool has painted dolphins on the bottom and a wooden deck with flowers and plants. The ground-level pavilion sits inside a manicured garden decorated with palm trees. Guest can enjoy a snack at the lobby bar with leather sofas or have a romantic Greek meal at the rooftop garden restaurant.

Location

In the neighborhood of Plaka, about a 15-minute walk to the Parthenon and Acropolis

The hotel is located right by Syntagma Square, on the pedestrian street of Ermou and a bit west of the National Gardens. It’s about a 15-minute walk to both the Parthenon and Acropolis; several other historical sights are nearby as well, along with a plethora of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Electra Palace is within a five-minute walk to a bus stop where guests can catch a ride to Athens International Airport. There’s also a nearby bus line serving Piraeus Port, the largest seaport in Greece.

Rooms

Classic rooms with neutral walls, wooden floors, and marble bathrooms

Guest rooms showcase walls painted or wallpapered in neutral colors offset by wooden floors. White crown molding, gold lamps and picture frames, marble bathrooms, and area rugs create a debonair look. Some spaces have balconies with outdoor seating, and some interior areas feature red-patterned or gray couches. All rooms have minibars and flat-screen TVs. Bathrobes and slippers are provided as well, and Wi-Fi is available for a fee.
