The large Aquaxana spa complex includes a hydrotherapy pool, a Roman bath, a sauna, and a solarium, and more; guests can also enlist in health and wellness programs monitored by trained professionals. With gorgeous grounds set amongst lush hills, it’s an ideal spot to relax. However, the four-pearl Hotel Enclave on the same grounds is worth considering as an alternative; this sister property houses the Gran's spa facilities and has almost all the same services for a lower price.

This large property is set amongst rolling green hills and the grounds are well maintained. The historic spa first opened its doors in 1776 and the Gran Hotel and Room of Mirrors, which houses the breakfast buffet, were built in the 19th century. Architectural features from centuries past contrast starkly to modern newer buildings. A glass bridge serves as a hallway connecting two buildings and the large, bright lobby is filled with modern purple couches and unique hanging light fixtures. An Olympic ring-inspired work of art is just one of the many abstract pieces placed throughout the property. A garden area with a gazebo, tranquil rock streams, and stone pathways lined by trees provides a lovely, peaceful setting. The hotel is primarily frequented by couples who want to relax and enjoy the spa facilities, but there is a kids club and a family-friendly swimming pool. Note that the restaurants and spa facilities are all located at the adjacent Hotel Enclave.
