Video: Climb Jamaica's Dunn's River Falls
Jamaica has long been a hotbed of tourism, whether as a destination for all-inclusive seekers (check out our favorite all-inclusives in Jamaica here) or as a stop on a Caribbean cruise. In either case, one of the most popular attractions near the resort town of Ocho Rios is the famous Dunn's River Falls, and it's an excursion worth taking. Visitors are invited to climb the gently sloping falls, which are about 180 feet tall and 600 feet long, either on their own or with a guide. Be careful, though -- the rocks are slippery! We recommend wearing water shoes with good grips. If you're not in the mood to get wet, you can climb the stairs built alongside the falls. Despite the heat of Jamaica, you'll be able to stay relatively cool, as the waterfall sits beneath thick foliage. Fans of James Bond should note that a scene from "Dr. No" was filmed here in the 1960s. So, on your next trip to Jamaica, will you scale Dunn's River Falls?
